Tammy Wynstra-Basel is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Illinois. She also has an IL type 10 teaching certificate and has her certificate of clinical competence awarded by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). Tammy was awarded a star 105.5 teacher of the month award after being nominated by a parent of a child.
Tammy graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She continued her graduate education at Eastern with an MS in Communication Disorders and Sciences. She has over 17 years combined experience working with the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders in both the medical and school environments.
Tammy is a passionate speech-language pathologist (SLP) with extensive experience and knowledge in the field of autism, including the use of discrete trials, picture exchange communication system (PECS), TEACHH, and more. Tammy has in-depth knowledge of assessment tools and procedures and current therapy practices. She feels strongly about bringing therapy practices into the home to promote carryover of skills learned.
