Giving 1 star is too high in my opinion. If you want real reviews, find the ones that have legitimate user names and more sincere posts. These reviews were done by their instructors and the people they told to create accounts. These are the type of people Talamantez Karate are. Lying, deceitful, greedy, money hungry people that constantly remind you of how horrible of a parent you are because you refuse to increase you monthly payment to them. Good job guys, creating these fake accounts and fake reviews just helps us ""real"" people out by you showing your true colors. How childish. more

Alex, I wanted to tell you a few things we have observed in Aiden's first few classes with you: - He is extremely happy to be there (wanting to be there is half the battle!). - Your teaching style is really great for all the kids, but especially for a student like Aiden. You are using techniques that many educators go to school for years to learn! -Aidan stands a little bit taller and a little taller bit straighter as a result of being so proud to be there. Your positive and reinforcing teaching style is very confidence. Aiden has come a long way from exclusively participating in Special Olympics to your karate school. We are so proud of him, but know that he will not be successful without a teacherlike you who is supportive, gentle, fun, encouraging, and always positive. He will have challenges that others do not, and will struggle to remember sequences of moves and proper execution of kicks, blocks, and punches, but,you will not meet a kiddo that works harder than he to maintain and keep up. I just wanted to tell you thank you, from both my husband and myself, for accepting him, allowing him to participate, and accommodating his speical needs. I truly believe that he will be better and stronger for having joined Talamantez FamilyKarate School. This is school is a inspiration to many and including myself. i have never seen no one work and show much progress and dicipline in a short amount of time. this is a excelent school. i am proud to be part this martial arts school. Its never about the money its about peoples trust. more

my son has attended Talamantez for years twice weekly. I was recently called to Master Talamantez's office to discuss my son's progress. He said that the other instructor had given up on him but he had not. He said to get my son to his black belt I needed to sign another contract for a year and pay $2,400, but that he could get him to black belt by June. I said I needed to discuss the fee with my husband and we would let him know. When I walked back out to watch the remainder of class, I was stunned at what happened next. He called my son out by name, in front of the other students in the middle of class, and dismissed him and told him his class was over. My son was confused and humiliated and we will never set foot in there again. We are not deadbeats, nor are we delinquent in billing. I am stunned and, unfortunately, the reviewers who have said this is a place concerned only about money have proven to be correct. They supposedly teach confidence, but my son was crushed by what happened. more

Thank YOU Sensai My story starts at age three watching power rangers in front of the tv learning the movies and what not until i was inrolled in talamantez karate. then i relize i was some where that i felt proud, confident, and loyal. i felt that every time i talked about karate i felt part of the talamantez family. Training harder then any other student i could see. beside my instructors left to right i felt that this is one of my greatest accomplishments in my life. i trained till i was 7 then i had no choice but to leave under my life style and the constant moving. after that i felt empty, and like a lost soul... Until the age of 16 i was passing by the studio on bandera rd. and saw it was open. i stepped in side bowed and i saw sensai perez, flashbacks came to me as i saw him. we talked and decided that it was time to come back. as he spoke with Master T it gave me the thrill to see my master once again. so he invited me to stop by the studio on redland. so the next day i was off. we got lost but we mange to find it. as i walked in i saw a some what bald man and got scared but ""never judge a book by its cover"" he is one of the nices man there Sensai Wurth. he is excelent with children any age. then i saw Master. Master T still looked as he did i can tell it ment alot that i was coming in to see him. when he dicused how it will work i was inshock! i was just a boy the day before and then i was a boy with life and meaning and a purpose. which is to bring peace to many people. when i did my first class i was smiling constatly. and when i left i cried to myself saying""im home"" it is a very emotial experience for me beacuse i was so lost in the world with out karate. As of right now i am 17 and i am the coach for XMA( EXTREME MARTIAL ARTS) and i enjoy doing it. i also train with two OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING INSTRUCTORS like Sensai Griggs. She is the most positive, proud women i have ever met, she is also a great person to talk to. Then there is Sensai Alex Talamantez when i was younger and until now he has been my greatest insperating in my life i think of him as my father how he train as a child thats how i want to be trained i will go the distance for this instructor no matter what. when he pushes me i know its for a purpose and i respect it . my goal is to spare with Sensai Alex win or lose i will be proud beacuse i know it is a honor to spare agenst him. please if anyone reads this please call Talamantez Family Karate they might just change your life for the best like it did for me more

These guys are nothing but crooks and all of the instructors are no talents who could not place if they competed in the national tournament. I to was conned into signing a contract and was taught nothing of use. I moved up in rank to brown belt and i can tell you the belt is worthless. I have moved on to other schools and have experienced the difference in what true martial art. It was a complete shock to find out my brown belt from Talamantez was only equal to a white belt at another school. I have been able to move on gain brown belt status at other schools and competed in national tournaments and placed 1st , 2nd and 3rd. I can tell no one from talamantez school, including the instructors would be able to compete and place. more
