I wanted a good world cuisine for lunch and I was very pleased. The samosa were wonderful. The chicken Vindaloo was spicy and flavorful; Just perfect. Great service, pleasant atmosphere. I will return next time in town.\r more

Not much more to say. The service was great, fast and super friendly. I love Indian food but I'm not an expert. That being said, I liked their food and so did the rest of my family. The place is really cozy and just comfortable and nice in general.\r more

I've been many times. The food is consistently great and the service is always friendly and attentive. And, though it's usually got a good number of customers in it, there's rarely a wait. Sometimes they can be sort of pushy with the wine, but despite this I recommend it highly.\r more

I am so happy right now. Finally an 3/10/2014

Was pleasantly surprised by the decor, service, and food. The price was reasonable. Tables were set and dressed very neatly with white table cloth and heavy white fabric napkins. Service was excellent. Water glass was always filled. When we asked for appetizers a few minutes after we ordered, the wait person quickly ran back to put our order in. The vegetable samosas were light, tasty, and fresh. We ordered lamb roganjosh, spinach saag, garlic naan...a huge plate of rice came as well. The saag and roganjosh servings were good and they were tasty. The saag was so fresh, not thick and overcooked. Both dishes came with fresh parsley generously sprinkled over top. This is the some of thefreshest Indian food that I can remember eating. Like I said before we were pleasantly surprised.\r more

The two Thali (veggie or meat) dishes never disappoint. It's a sampler platter served on a giant frisbee-like plate. The service is always excellent as well.\r more

Good food. But most importantly, I booked my reservation in about 3 clicks on their website! Free and simple. They had the table waiting for me when I got there.\r more

The owner and staff are personable . The owner ran out in the middle of a rain storm to hail a cab for a couple of women! Awesome service.I recommend you book your reservation on their website, it was so simple.\r more

I have never eaten in the actual restaurant itself, I have only called in for take out. This is the best Indian food in DC in my opinion. If it tastes as good as it does with it being take out I can only imagine how good it is in the place itself. I always get this chicken and spinach dish. They also have really good naan.\r more

By far the best Indian Food I've found in DC. The Shrimp Biryani is amazing and now I can't help but order it every time I go. The shrimp and vegetables are so fresh! I also love their garlic Nann. The servers have been friendly every time I've been there.\r more

One of the best (if not the best) Indian restaurants that I've been to in the Washington DC metro area. Leaps and bounds better than the chain Indian restaurants (eg Tandoori Nights; Delhi Dhaba). Some of my primary recommendations would include: Malai Kofta (vegetarian meatballs in a light cream/tomato sauce); Lamb Briyani (a savory rice dish with tender bits of lamb) and Tandori chicken. The dishes combine a unique array of flavors and spice to create a top knotch Indian dining experience.\r more

As someone who has a deep appreciation for fine Indian food and having dined at some of the highest rated Indian restaurants in London, I whole-heartedly recommend Taj of India. The quality of service was outstanding, as was the meal. I ordered the Chicken Korma and Chicken Tikka Masala, two of my favorites, and I was blown away by the flavor. My boyfriend and I also ordered the Peshwari Naan, and we were literally in awe of how great it tasted (seriously, it's $3.50, so there is no reason why you shouldn't try this). We were pleased with the pricing as well, considering it is located on the main strip in the heart of Georgetown. This restaurant is an absolute must for locals and tourists alike.\r more

Hands down the best Indian restaurant in the district! It's similar to the Indian food in London which is rich, creamy, and sweet. The butter chicken here is awesome the best I've ever had and I'm always on the hunt for sweet, creamy butter chicken. I'm not the greatest fan of spice. It's not authentic Indian, not as spicy because it caters to people with a low spice threshold but who enjoy Indian food. Samosas are fresh, naan is awesome and butter chicken, butter chicken, butter chicken!!!\r more

Loved this place from beginning till the end. Staff was really nice and respectful. my water glass was never empty and i do drink alot of water. Food was amazingly delicious, i had butter chicken with butter naan. Cant wait to go back there next weekend again!!\r more

Not the greatest experience - also, Naan is at the bottom of the menu so don't forget to add it. Food arrived two hours after ordering - which is an hour after their estimated delivery time was supposed to be. The lamb in my lamb korma was overdone but the sauce was fantastic - maybe chicken would have been better? Meat samosas were awful - dry and with ground beef that just crumbled out of them. The rice was plentiful and the mango lassi was good. more

As someone who eats Indian frequently I found this establishment to be good and reasonably priced for Georgetown. While I have had better Nan bread, overall the mean was good and about $45 for two with alcohol.\r more
