Excellent service and GREAT food 11/27/2007

After reading some of the ""not so flattering"" reviews, I decided to write my own and correct the injustice. I love the food at Table Mesa and have only had the best customer service. If you are looking for your traditional Mexican food - this place is not for you. Table Mesa specializes in Mexican food with a European influence. The head chef (owner) does an excellent job at combining spices & textures that excite the taste buds. If you enjoy a drink with your meal ask for Jamil. His pairings are second to no other. I have visited Table Mesa several times. I can't say a bad word about Table Mesa. Pros: Great food and great service Cons: I guess a con would be: It's not Asian food. (Hey CitySearch - It is a mexican food restaurant!) more

The staff is more important than the customer 10/24/2007

After sitting down in the bar seeing baseball on the main tv and one of the smaller tv's, I was enjoying college football on the other. After looking over a over priced menu for mexican food my wife and I ordered a couple of drinks, when they came out we placed our order. After a few minutes the waiter changed the only tv from football to baseball, I asked why, his response was ""the chef wants baseball on all the tv's"". I said well I was watching football, ""sorry this is what the chef wants."" So after getting 3 tacos for $13, I can say this was over priced and since the ""chef wants it his way"" I see no need in going back. Pros: Parking, Cons: Service, cost more

Great food, great drinks, great service, lousy hostess 9/29/2007

After enjoying chef Eric Roeder's Bistro Vendome ( and the awesome bartender) we were quite intrigued to hear he had opened a Mexican restaurant. Table Mesa is the new restaurant in the same location as Kyoto. Since they had only been open two months, we didn't expect perfection. The mojitos at the bar were great so we didn't mind ordering a second round while waiting for a table. As the wait got close to an hour (after a 35 minute promise) we noticed empty tables and asked about our table. I had a hard time with the explanation that our name had been called since I hadn't heard any names being called. All was forgotten when the good arrived. It was great. I had the lamb shank with chorizo beans and absolutely loved it. I've had lamb at the Greek places around town, and this was really something. My wife had her well executed standby: chili rellenos.\r Overall good food, good drinks, good service, but I hope the hostess learns what to be ""slammed"" really means.\r \r We've been back twice since and still enjoy the place. I've heard Eric has moved on, but the lamb shank is still good. Pros: food, bar Cons: hostess more

Good Food, Slow Service 7/12/2007

Ive always enjoyed the food at Kyoto with the exception of some under cooked chicken. The Sushi is as good here as anywhere else in Denver, but the service can be slow at times, even if there is hardly anyone seated. Even with all this I keep going back, and suggest you give it a try also! Pros: Sushi Cons: Slow Service more

Fresh Delicious Sushi, Best Asian Fusion, Great Service, 4/19/2007

My husband and I went to Kyoto last week and were extremely happy with the food and great service! We started with a few sushi choices, the smoked salmon and king salmon, suggested by our server were deffinitly two of our favorites, they litterly melt in your mouth! for an entre we tried the yummy pork chop, which was accompanied by this rich red pepper sauce that added a little kick, it was one of the best pork chops I've ever had. My husband tried the blackend yellow tuna, also a killer choice. Presentation was beautiful and the flavor was delicious. \r We'll being going back VERY soon!\r p.s. Happy Hour $2 drafts! Pros: Food, Service more

Great food, friendly service 4/15/2007

Our family has celebrated two special occasions at Kyoto and haven't been disappointed! The menu offers a wide variety with a ""specials"" menu which changes. The sushi is THE BEST.... and I highly recommend the Sea Bass and Peppered Filet. If you're a landlubber, the terriyaki chicken will melt in your mouth! The wait staff is very friendly and efficient ~ you will LOVE this restaurant! Pros: Atmosphere Cons: A little slow in bringing the check more

Wonderful service! Ask for Chad.... 3/28/2007

We really enjoyed our first visit to Kyoto's. We ordered Sushi only, (which was very good) so we really can't comment on other menu items. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was great. We thought the prices we a little high, but worth it when it comes to good experience, overall. Pros: Service, locaiton, ambience, food. more
