Just had a wonderful experience with these guys moving from the North Shore to Wisconsin. They were professional and friendly every step of the way. The administrator at the office, Sabrina, was very pleasant and easy to work with. Our estimator, Dani, was thorough and very accurate (considering we had a 3br house, a full basement, a shed and a storage container). \r \r The packers were very courteous and, like other reviewers have said, they really hustled! There was no slacking or even a lunch break! Rob, Josh, Alyssio, Mike and Joe were all a pleasure to work with. \r \r The loading was done on a rainy day. These guys did what they could to not track rain and dirt into the house. They pulled the truck up to our stairs and were able to get the bottom of the ramp on our covered porch. Rob did a great job supervising everything. Josh, Paolo, Steven and Dennis all really worked hard again to get everything loaded. Again, the crew was very pleasant and friendly. \r \r Rob kept us well informed of when our things would be delivered. They arrived during the specificied time and again really hustled to get our things unloaded. Rob, Josh and Paolo even worked through pouring rain and tornado warning, now that's dedication!\r \r I can't say enough about how professional, friendly and incredibly hard working these guy were! I would definitely recommend them to anyone. \r A big thank you to Rob, Josh, Paolo, Mike, Joe, Alyssio, Steven, Dennis and Sabrina! You made a stressful situtation much easier to deal with. more

I highly recommend Roadrunner. We've now used them twice. The first time was our move out of Our Boston condo and into our house in the burbs. A small move at the time, but we felt like a very big customer. Lots of attention to our needs and immediate follow up to our questions and concerns though out the whole process. The second time was a combo move-store-move in process. Like the first time, the move went extremely smoothly. The crew was on time, friendly yet professional, and provided outstanding service and attention to detail. I have no plans to move again in the near future, but when that time does come, Roadrunner will be the mover. Hire them, you won't be disappointed. more

Roadrunner is professional, efficient, and responsible. They were done in less time than quoted and our new condo looked like a home already when they were done- the furniture was in place, rug unrolled, etc. I have used them three times and now feel like I know half the team. My husband and I moved from a 100 year old home in Charlestown, MA to Newton, MA on 8/24/2010. 8/23 and 8/24 were terribly rainy and windy days in short awful days to move. Our roadrunner crew came on the 23rd to pack us and made sure to wrap all the pieces of furniture they could in advance in order to be prepared for the morning in case there was a window of time without rain as we had to have several items hoisted out of our home and it would have been too dangerous had there not been a dry period. The crew (Matt, Tony, Elisio, Danny and Peter) arrived early on the 24th as it was not yet raining and got right to work on hoisting the necessary items out. They all made it into the truck before the rain began to fall! Had they not been so prepped the day before we would have had to postpone this part of our move! From there everything else went smoothly. We were expecting an extremely stressful day as that was our experience when we moved into the home several years earlier. Instead the crew took all the roadblocks in stride and worked together to figure them out! They kept their cool and were all super polite and great to work with! You can tell they take their jobs seriously and use their brains to make what can be an extremely difficult and stressful day go as smoothly as possible! We had some items in storage so when one truck was full half of the crew went to pick those up and the other half stayed and finished in Charlestown. Everything was unloaded in Newton in record time (much easier house to maneuver in!) and when we paid the bill that day they came in UNDER their estimate!!! We thanked them profusely for making a very complicated move easier and they answered with a smile and said 'once in a while we like a challenge'! When we unpacked everything was in excellent condition. The only piece that got damaged was our patio umbrella and they are going to reimburse us for it! I would also like to add that the crew NEVER stopped working! There were no lunch breaks, cigarette breaks- nothing! They worked non-stop and were courteous and professional throughout while maintaining a jovial attitude- tough to do when you are hoisting furniture over decks with a hurricane on the way! Two thumbs up to the entire Roadrunner operation. I have used several moving companies and this one is the best BY FAR! They may be slightly more pricey but they are up front about their costs and don't ever go over estimate. It is money WELL spent in my opinion! more

Moving in Boston can be stressful and expensive, but my experience with Roadrunners was neither. Both the management team and the moving team were fantastic to deal with, and the rates were among the cheapest in the area. No surprises in billing, and no broken items. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a positive moving experience. more

Roadrunner are absolutely brilliant - their attention to detail, their care and concern were incredible. They were quick, but careful and not only were all the packers and removalists efficient, knowledgeable and nice but the ffice staff and owner were continually in touch with us during the process. We have used Roadrunner three times - for two internal moves in MA and then moving us internationally and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. They understood the complexities of a move to Australia, they knew the items that might cause customs a problem ( ie certain types of wood) and they advised us and packed the items accordingly. they built special crates for some items and they stored our cartons and furniture as a convenience to us to allow us to move items out in stages. there is now way to descrobe Roadrunner, their management and employees in any other way than brilliant from start to finish. Also price wise they are very reasonable and much less expensive than another big company in MA. Everyone we know that has used them feels the same about them - thanks guys - simply wonderful! I had a very complicated move from Chicago to Boston that involved local Chicago movers, Pods shipping, and Roadrunner Moving and Storage on the Boston end. Dave and the team from Roadrunner were great. They confirmed details with the Chicago packing company and Pods and made sure that my things made it to my new house on time, in excellent condition, and with no problems whatsoever. I cannot recommend them more highly--don't bother looking anywhere else in Boston. more

My husband and I just bought a place and we decided to get professional movers rather than do it by ourselves and it was totally worth it. The staff at Roadrunner are very professional, helpful, and responsive. I originally called for a quote, then had a free in-home estimate, and decided to book my move with this company even though I got a lower price from another company. I felt like Roadrunner dedicated more resources to us for our move, even if we had to pay a little bit more it was worth it. On moving day (03/31/10), the staff showed up right on time, got to work right away, did a great job, and didn't slack off. They were careful with all of our items and very friendly and courteous. The same was true at our new home when the crew unloaded the truck. Although we received an estimate of 7 hours from start to finish, Roadrunner completed the job in about 5 hours. All in all, we are very satisfied and would recommend Roadrunner to anyone who is moving. Pros: Good price, good work, on time Cons: Can't say anything bad! more

These guys are great and I highly recommend them! They moved me from Baltimore to Boston. Their price was half (literally) of what Gentle Giant quoted me and the service was top-notch. They were professional, friendly, and incredibly good at their job. They were absolutely unfazed by the various challenges that presented themselves over the course of the move and I was truly impressed. I had a ton of stuff in my apartment and the way they packed the entire truck so everything just exactly fit - still managing to keep my fragile items safely on top - was honestly a work of art. When I got stuck in traffic and showed up late to unload there was no hint of annoyance on their part, they were completely nice and professional about everything. They even made another trip to my house later to drop off some little metal thingies (part of my lamp) that they had found in a sweep of their truck. I was worried about choosing the right moving company because it's huge to entrust people with your stuff... this was totally the right choice. Roadrunner makes moving a breeze! I have moved with them 8 times (I know) and every time was a wonderful, no stress experience. It is such a relief to work with them because there are so many details to consider when moving, this one is just checked off the list. Our most recent move was from California to NYC. Our movers in NY had to climb up 6 flights and we did not hear one complaint from Paul, Paul and Mathew. After a horrible experience with an unreputable mover a few years ago, I was determined not to make the same mistake twice. I did my research and narrowed my search to four moving companies which included Roadrunner. All the pricing was pretty close to one another, but I eventually chose Roadrunner since they offered an extra crew member to make the move go quicker. My wife wanted Roadrunner based on the fact that they offered ways in which we could make the move easier for our young children; a personal touch that was very nice. I was moving into a new place but needed my stuff stored for a week in between. The team at Roadrunner walked me through the process and stored my stuff for free! All other companies I called required me to pay upwards of $75 for a week of storage. The same two gentlemen moved my stuff out of my old place and into my new place. They were quick, efficient, friendly and professional. The entire experience was fantastic. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat! I phone-interviewed three movers for my mum's move from a single-family house to a one-bedroom apartment. Though not very different in price, Dave @ Roadrunner spent time with me on the phone to explain the process, answer all of my questions and reassure me that they would make the move painless. Whenever I phoned or emailed him with questions, he responded promptly and courteously. Paulo and his team did a fabulous job. They arrived at the appointed time, packed my mum's fragile things, took apart her bed, wrapped her furniture with great care and transported them to her apartment and set everything up. They even took some things out to curbside for rubbish collection. They were sensitive to the fact that this was a traumatic move for my mum who had lived in her house for 60+ years. My husband and I moved the middle of February and had an excellent experience with Roadrunner. From Dave coming and giving us a quote that made us feel assured of the price we'd be paying to a truly inclusive cost with no extra fees. Our three movers (Terrance, Danny and Paul) showed up on time and within minutes our furniture was being wrapped and carried out onto the truck. They were very careful with each piece of our furniture and worked very well as a team. A few hours later and they were on the road to our new house, even preferring to go straight there to stopping for lunch. At our new house they really proved their worth with a narrow staircase and our new refrigerator managing to hoist it carefully without leaving a dent or scratch. They even helped moved the refrigerator the previous homeowners had left downstairs which proved to be a challenge involving a bulkhead and removing doors. The team was friendly, efficient and flexible. Our move was slightly over the quote, mostly do to a narrow laundry room door and the aforementioned refrigerators and totally worth it. It would have take us days and multiple rental trucks to do what they did in 6 hours. I cannot recommend them enough. Pros: fast and careful move Cons: more expensive than competitors, but worth it more

This is the second move Roadrunner performed for us. The first was to move our entire household within Massachusetts. That move was performed within budget, on time and in a way that made our move far easier than our last move. This second move involved moving furniture and boxes we were storing in our basement to a home my parents occupy in Arizona. Once again Roadrunner came in on budget, on time and with wonderful service throughout. The price for the move to Arizona was very reasonable and the move was completed within our time frames ? not under timing dictated by the moving company (an experience with had with another mover some years ago that really threw a wrench into our plans). Bottom line, these guys deliver value and quality at a reasonable price. We?ve hired them twice and we?d hire them again! Leading up to our move out of the city, we had the stress of moving and were nervous about our paid permit signs being ripped down repeatedly by nasty neighbors. Dave and his crew relieved our stresses and when they showed up to replace the signs every day, covered and took precious care of our furniture, and met us at our new home 1 hour outside the city (even pulling in reverse in a tight driveway with ease!). You fear the worst when booking movers, having heard such horror stories like slow moving crews that take up extra time (and money), banged up walls, but that was not the case with us. Roadrunners was in constant contact with us to the day of the delivery, and simply the best money ever spent. I happily recommend them!
