A group of us (5) had dinner at Sushi-ko in Georgetown last night. Our table was in a dark corner, the lighting was poor, and the decor miserable. Service was good but the food wa...

Not your normal sushi... 5/16/2006

If you're looking for sushi in an intimate and romantic setting, this is a good place to go. The service is friendly and efficient. The sushi is always quite fresh and there are usually so many good choices from the daily specials to the regular menu items I have a hard time deciding what to get. It's also not all your normal sushi as they are quite creative with the dishes versus a straight-up fish on rice deal. I usually ending up getting a bunch of the small dishes from the menu and if my wife didn't stop me, I'd go wild here. more

This is one of the better value places in the area. I’m a big fan of their sushi. This is a great place to take a date. The sushi here is great and the interior is very friendly. There is a lot of parking here so you don’t have to worry about taking a long time to find a spot. more

Great food, not everyone treated well 2/5/2006

This restaurant receives good reviews from all over. The food is wonderful. The decor is dark and inviting. The service is quick. There is plentiful parking in the lot next-door. It's in that quieter part of Georgetown where you won't be jostled by crowds on the sidewalk. But I will share an experience that's kept me away...and that might be valuable to some of you. I am a person of color and I went here for lunch with a white friend. When we entered, the host addressed my friend and not me. When he took us to our table, he pulled out my friend's chair and not mine. Then, he asked her what we wanted to drink. I, actually, was having a busy day and did not notice this. My friend did and pointed it out. Our waitress behaved the same. For some (me, included), this is the kind of thing that will decide whether I return to a restaurant -- I don't believe in giving my money to places where I am not treated well, and I have not returned. But if you don't care about such things, you will have a good experience. more

Sushi-Ko 8/26/2005

Though it may look like a dive from the outside, inside Sushi-Ko provides a cozy, romantic, traditional sushi dining experience, consistently rated high in Zagat's and local readers' polls. The restaurant has a modest but tasty wine list and a full menu of sushi rolls, sashimi, appetizers, and entrees. Whether you sit at a table or watch the chefs prepare your meal at the sushi bar, the staff is friendly, knowledgable, and accomodating. Try the blue crab california roll, filled with fresh real crab meat. Rolls are reasonably priced between $3 and $10 or so, but it can get pricey for a big eater. more

Best Sushi in DC 8/21/2005

This restaurant is hands down the best sushi restaurant in DC. They have the freshest fish and the best tasting sushi around. They also offer a lot of creative ways to prepare sushi which provides variety each time we visit. Of course, the prices are not cheap but well worth every penny. On weekends this place is booked. Try the soft shell crab roll for a treat or the tuna three ways. more
