Editorial review from Citysearch 5/14/2013

The cowboy roll is phenomenal. The waiters and waitresses really know the menu and are willing to help you out with any questions you may have. If you are like me (grew up using raw fish for bait), you will need some education on what is what on the menu. Try everything! I have not found a bad dish, yet. If you are looking for a unique feel to your lunch -take your shoes off and sit cross legged at the traditional table. It will make you wish you wore breathable shoes, but it is worth it. more

Not impressed 12/14/2009

I was not impressed by Sushi Neko at all. I love Musashi's which is directly across the road from Sushi Neko and I've always heard raves about Sushi Neko so wanted to give it a go and wish I hadn't. The sushi was almost a warm temperature which made it aweful and it was a bit salty, when asked by our waitor we told him our honest opinion without being rude and not that we expected a compensation but none was even offered. I wasn't impressed so I won't be going back. As I understand it, both restaurants have the same owner so they'll still get my business at Musashi's. Pros: Good wine menu Cons: Sushi was warm and salty more

Sushi! 8/30/2009

Sushi Neko is a great sushi place! Make sure you make reservations, as walk-ins are not always guaranteed seats. You can eat at 6 pm or 8 pm. And, you must be out by the next setting. I have never felt rushed though! The volcano roll is the most awesome roll ever! The pineapple martinis are excellent. As for dessert, I go back and forth between fried ice cream and fried bananas! Both are great! more

Not as good as they say 5/8/2009

I have to say, I was not too impressed. We ordered various rolls and tempura udon. The broth of udon was way too salty and rolls were not very fresh or special. \r \r Will not be going back.\r Pros: Ambience Cons: Average food more

There's a reason it's so buzy. Best to make reservations. 3/1/2009

The uni shooters are the best found anywhere. It is best to make reservations if you want a seat. Great wine list as well. Pros: Great staff Cons: Hard to get a seat more

Great food, Great atmosphere 1/30/2009

After hearing all my girlfriends at work rave about Sushi Neko, is was determined to try it. My dateand I went on a Sunday night. The food was fresh, tasty, and appealing. The staff was very helpful in choosing an appropriate dish. Prices are very reasonable. The ambience was great, good lighting. A little small, but very cozy. Friendly staff and even when it's busy you have prompt service. Neko is my favorite sushi house in OKC. I recommend the Red Canyon!! Pros: service, lighting, staff, food! Cons: a little small, but cozy more

Good but $$$ 8/24/2008

We have been to Sushi Neko on several occassions. They have very good food Sushi but it is pricey! Location is good and service was very good. Atmosophere is great to take clients, friends, etc. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service Cons: Pricey more

horrible sushi...I would not call that torro. more like poor quality tuna 6/3/2008

The service wasn't that good either. I first received my martini in a shot glass. then asked for a glass of ice for my shot (martini) and they gave me a huge glass with ice. Finally received a martini glass and my $10 shot/martini wasn't even half of the martini glass. The torro sushi was bad. I wouldn't call it torro more like poor quality tuna, at least it wasn't over $4 and the roll we ordered was mainly mayonaise...yuk! more

Still the Best Sushi in my Book 4/22/2008

I moved from Oklahoma City about a year ago and now live in Seattle WA. You would think that being near the coast, they would have amazing sushi, but I have to say that Sushi Neko is still my favorite. This was my first sushi experience and is still the best. They have pillows where you can sit on the floor which just adds to the ambience. The lobster shooters are amazing! Even if you think you don't like fish or shellfish (which was me) you will almost be gauranteed to like Sushi Neko. more

worst sushi in oklahoma 3/30/2008

i eat sushi at least 3 times a week. i go to niko only if the other places are closed. their service is very poor. quality of fish is poor. the good sushi bars close at nine. niko closes at 11 which is the only plus about them if you're addicted to sushi like me. more

In Paseo, the arts district 11/12/2007

Neko is across the street from a popular hibachi grill, which is a bit more upscale. Neko is a great place to have the best and most fresh sushi, great green tea ice cream, and fried bananas, and lets not forget wasabi. Very modern Japanese sushi bar. My favorite in Ok, and Tx. more

Good local sushi in a chic setting 7/4/2007

Attracting a lot of attention from the socialites of Nichols Hills and other posh residential areas nearby, Sushi Neko offers a great atmosphere and decent cuisine to satisfy us landlocked sushi lovers in Oklahoma City. Be prepared to drop between $20 and $40 for a good meal, but it's definitely worth it for an occasional treat. Pros: Great atmosphere, good service and food Cons: Dishes are quite pricey. Some sushi rolls leave the palette unfulfilled. more

Sushi Neko took my sushi virginity! And I loved every minute! 8/21/2006

When I first went into Sushi Neko I had my doubts- especially when I saw all the fish behind the glass at the susi bar. However, daring to try something new, I gave it a shot...and became a Sushi fiend. There is a club that you can join- it's totally worth it.\r Pros: great service, Sushi club, excellent Sake Cons: a little harsh on the pocketbook more

They miss the mark with poor fish. 7/23/2006

Unfortunately, Sushi Neko is the most popular Sushi restaurant in OKC. No question, it is a nice place but they fall well below my standards because of poor fish quality and uneducated preparation. I'm sure many patrons will think I'm crazy but the true sushi aficionados know exactly what I'm talking about. Pros: Great ambience and outstanding service Cons: Very poor fish and preperation. more

bonzai! 6/26/2006

From the exterior one is quick to perceive it as japanese rest. It proves true to its heritage--providing each customer with milieu conducive to japan. It has a small patio providing a pleasant option for customers on a beautiful evening. The menu provides vast selection that acquiesces even the greatest skeptic. Other options on the menu can appease those that dont wish to indulge in the raw culinary selection. They provide options on the menu to satisfy those with or without an appetite. A very good choice. Pros: food selection and quality, service, environment more

Very Hospitable! 11/10/2005

I highly recommend this little gem! I took a party of 10 there for my birthday and the folks there confirmed my reservation the day of and then called again 30 minutes prior. They had balloons in the Tatami room and came by to take a picture of the group. They then gave that to me as a ""gift"" along with the dessert with a candle on it! I was thoroughly impressed! Chucky Cheese for adults. The food was very good as well and well priced. Pros: friendly staff, food Cons: small, not a lot of seating more

Sushi Anyone? 10/26/2005

This is the best sushi in OKC, hands down. The menus are also very user-friendly, so if you are a newbie to sushi, you dont have to be scared. The atmosphere is very minimalist and authentic, making for a memorable dining experience. The waitstaff is very helpful, also, to make this fish experience go more smoothly for you. I recommend the hot sake on a cold night with the miso soup, which is very tasty. more

Simply the Best! 8/11/2005

The best sushi in the Southwest. I don't know how they do it. Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Wine list Cons: Wait to be seated more
