Tucked away in a quiet Tarzana mini-mall on Ventura Boulevard, Sushi Iki is an undiscovered gem of innovation and freshness. If you love uni (sea urchin) or even if you usually turn your nose at it, you will be amazed by Eddie's version. He gets it fresh and kickin' from the ocean, slices it open like a true showman, and serves you uni like you've never had it before. If bluefin toro is on the menu, by all means order it. Sure, it's pricey, but it's a little bite of heaven. Totally unpretentious, but always superlative -- it's a friendly, no-compromises alternative when all the other hyped-up sushi places on Ventura are booked.
