I want to be a regular! Great sushi, friendly, clean, and inviting. Happy servers and staff :-) 6/14/2007

I would have to agree with the first reviewer that?this place is great! We were a bit apprehensive going in, especially since I don?t consider myself to be a sushi connoisseur. But our fears quickly subsided when the friendly staff quickly welcomed us. We went on a weeknight so both the tables and bar area were open. We first sat at a table, but then opted for the fun-looking bar. The sushi chef makes the rolls right in front of you. Their skill was great entertainment. Our server was friendly and gave us no problems about the move. I was really impressed by the menu. Many of the sushi options have beautiful, vibrant photos so you knew exactly what you were ordering. I only wish there were more pictures. I opted for a fried sushi roll and it was delicious! I?ve never had fried sushi so I was very happy with my choice. The miso soup was so-so, but then again I don?t think I?m much of a miso soup fan. I love the beautiful dishes they use to present the sushi. My friend sushi came on this gorgeous plate that looked live a giant leaf. \r \r I must say that I was incredibly impressed with the happy, fun staff. My first time being here it was nice to see that they made sure to welcome every guest and thank them genuinely as they left. A lot of people came in and out of the restaurant (some opting for takeout) and the staff seemed to know many of them by name. Regulars in a restaurant are always a good sign. The decor is fun and energetic. This is a great place to take friends especially if they are from out of town. I love the location because it is far away from Snobsdale (Scottsdale). If you like sushi this is a great place to try. I hope to be known as a regular soon. Pros: Yummy sushi, excellent staff, fun and friendly atmosphere Cons: sushi is always expensive, oh well more

Small, welcoming and generous. 3/16/2007

My wife, who doesn't like sushi, decided to try Sushi Eye for lunch one day. As we walked in we were immediately greeted as if they were actually excited that we were there. She had Chicken Teriyaki as one of the lunch combos. I ordered Tuna Sashimi and Vegetable Tempura as a combo. The salad, sadly only iceberg lettuce, had a heavenly, nutty dressing that is hard to resist. The miso soup was typical miso, but deliceous. Now the combo was the impressive part of our meal. Great grilled chicken and the tempura just right. Now the tuna sashimi was probably the best I have ever had, and I eat a LOT of sushi. The best part was the fact that they arranged samples of several appetizers around the dish, including octupus salad, seaweed salad, and four pieces of a california roll (which my wife actually ate and LOVED it).\r \r The atmosphere has techno-type music, which was fine and not too loud. This place is clean, friendly, welcoming and excellent. more
