Sunset Auto

I was really impressed with this auto shop. I had been told by another place that I would need $1300 worth of work done on my car and another shop couldn't even figure out what was wrong. Both of the other places came recommended. I found Sunset Auto on citysearch and read the reviews and decided to get a third opinion. The peole there got me in fast and found the problem within 30 min. They fixed it within 10min and I left with my car working and only had to pay less than $60. I told my friend who lives out of town about this shop and she said when she lived here she only used them because of their great service. My mom just called me with a car problem and I sent her over today. Definately a great find!! Pros: squeezed my car in short notice and saved me $$$ more

I went in to get an oil change at this other place in Vegas and was given a complimentary check on my car to make sure all was running ok. I was given an estimate of $1800 and was told the water pump needed to be replaced. When I mentioned it to my husband (Who is deployed) was floored that this place had given me this outrageous amount especially knowing that we take care of our car regularly, and don't let it get out of control. I did a search and saw this place SUNSET AUTO that had quite a few positive reviews. I decided to take my car in, from the moment I brought it in I was taken care of with such care, just like a VIP. MD the manager checked my car, and asked me if I had some time so they can do a 27 point inspection I of course said yes, and I waited and honestly I was expecting another high quote! To my surprise he said it would cost under $200 because it was a hose that was leaking and needed to be replaced NOT the water pump! I wanted to jump up and hug him. In these times $1800 is a lot of money and with my husband being deployed money is tight. MD told me that he came from a military family (USMC) same branch as my husband, and at that moment I felt complete trust and knew they were the place where we would finally find that was HONEST, and LOYAL and we'd become customers for life! So needless to say that if you're trying to find a good, reliable, honest place that wont lie to you because you're a woman you need to bring it in to Sunset Auto they are WONDERFUL!! Great customer service! They will give you a ride home and drive you back, something other shops don't do! They are amazing! Thank you Sunset Auto! Ask for MD or James, they are awesome! When I walked into Sunset Auto I felt comfortable. I would have never thought an auto repair shop would have such a nice and CLEAN waiting area. Mike & MD are awesome. I just came from a shop that gave me a list of stuff they said I HAD to do. But the guys over at Sunset went through my whole car and found my engine was stalling (sometimes) because i had a bad connection at my alternator . They charged me less than $100 and sent me on my way. I havent had a problem since and will never take my car anywhere else! MD explained everything to me so I could understand without making me feel like an idiot. The guys there are like a big family and they make you feel like your a part of it. I have lived in this area since 1985, the experiences that I have had with car repair have been horrible. That is why I can say that Mike at Sunset Auto Import Service is THE best place to take your vehicle. I will recommend his shop to my friends, family and anyone who asks if I know a good place to get work done on their car. This shop and the people that work there are professional and take customer service to a whole new level. A level that every business owner should strive for. more

Mike and the guys at Sunset are honest and reliable. Me and my husband have been coming to them for the three years since we've lived in Las Vegas and we have no complaints. Also a girl I work with at my job has been using them for about 8 years and has no complaints either. Pros: Can usually find whatever problem your having with your car and will not charge for unnecessary work Cons: Not open on the weekends more

Mike and everyone at Sunset Auto have always taken care of me! Instead of telling me I needed additional work they actually told me that I could wait to have some work done until later and then did it for free when I finally had my car serviced (another place said it had to be done THAT day i.e. by them for $300!!!) I've never been dissatisfied with Sunset Auto ever!!!! I've been a customer for the last five years. My car has 180,000 miles on it and is still running like new thanks to Mike! They are just the greatest!!!! I think the person who wrote they do not speak english is thinking of the wrong place! I've never even seen a person at Sunset Auto who doesn't speak english! Plus they always know what they are doing, they've been in the business for YEARS! Make sure you know what you're taking about before you write a bad review!!!!!!! Cons: not open weekends more

Sunset Auto Imports provides a rare service -- good honest repair work. Management gets involved with customers. Quotes are fair, reasonable and honored. Work is done well and completed when promised. We've been customers over the past four years, and we're almost always happy with the work. The biggest downside is getting there. Their location on Boulder Highway (between Warm Springs and Sunset) is fairly inconvenient for us. more
