Sunrise Kennels & Dog Training

Boarded our dogs and one lost several pounds and got VERY sick after visit. Owner tried to blame us and denied any possibility his facility and the lack of care was at fault. We have boarded our dogs at a couple of different places around town and this is by far the worst and we will NEVER return. Inferior facilities, poor care of animals and bad customer service if you ask questions. Avoid at all costs!!! more

This is a great place for cats. My cat enjoys his stay (although he is still a little nervous going) and is always warm and safe during Colorado winter weather! I book him in advance to be sure there is room, and he is ready for pick up promptly (including a bath!). Highly recommended for pets of all sizes - you'll be greeted at the door by a couple of four legged friends ... Pros: Terrific staff and reasonable prices Cons: No drawbacks here more

I'm a long time patron of Doug Johnson's Sunrise Kennels, and this is a top-notch operation. I regularly board my pets there and have them groomed, and I've never had a problem. Prices are reasonable, the people are friendly, and their service is very good. I even bought one of their Bouvier pups a number of years ago, and she was a great dog. I highly recommend them. more

I was so impressed with Sunrise Kennels. Our dogs are like our kids. We had never kenneled our dogs and always had housesitters. When we decided to kennel them we checked around and decided on Sunrise. We were so pleased. I actually called and checked in on them and was so happy that they didn't seem to mind me calling. When we picked up the dogs they were groomed and so happy! I was concerned that the next time we brought them they'd be hesitant when they realized where we were and they walked right up to the front door, tails wagging, which was SUCH a relief for us. We leave them here whenever we go out of town, whether it's for the week or overnight. They are great! And the people there are really wonderful. Pros: Great people, my dogs love being here, the dogs are groomed when you pick them up! Cons: Not open Sunday. more

My husky obtained Giardia from this kennel...He had a clean bill of health one day prior to entering the kennels and came out with runny stools, vomitting and massive hairloss. He lost 5-6lbs and was in bad shape. The owner did not seem too concerened and attempted to pawn it off on my poor dog care at home. Other inconsistancies were the front desk phone, closing times. Overall I would say a poor place to kennel your pup. My family used to run a greyhound kennel so I knew what to expect from a professional place. I would go somewhere else. more

I have used this facility for years. My dogs love it there it is their home away from home. The fact that I can take my dog somewhere that they can get boarded. groomed and trained is a great concept.
