Great place to take the family!! 11/21/2005

The Whitaker center is a great place to spend a day as a family, there are activities for all ages, your kids will be learning and having a great time too. The IMAX theater is also a great bonus, some of the nature movies look amazing on the giant screen! This is a great place to spend the next rainy day! more

Imax at its best 8/6/2005

Whitaker Center for the Science and Arts is the place to go to see the latest Imax movies. We recently took our 3 year old daughter to see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory there. Even though it is more expensive than the regular movie theater, it is so worth the couple bucks more. The seating is stadium style so you don't have to worry about if someone will sit in front of you and block your view because they are taller than you. Also, if they have a 3-D movie available, you must see it!! Wow is all I can say! more

Only IMAX theater in Harrisburg 7/31/2005

Located within the Whitaker Center for Science & Arts in downtown Harrisburg, this IMAX theater is the only IMAX theater in Harrisburg, so it is the best! At any given time, the theater may be alternating showings of 2-3 films, at least 1 in 3D, the others in amazing 2D. Very kid friendly, but also perfect for IMAX loving adults of all ages. Park in the adjacent Walnut Street Parking Garage and never have to take a step outside. more

Good rainy day place to take the kids 7/31/2005

A quality science/art museum that's under 10 years old. They have a wonderful IMAX theater (the only one in the Harrisburg area). The Titanic exhibit and IMAX film are currently there. The Texaco Theater hosts an area of performances (plays, musicians, etc.) throughout the year. It's connected to Strawberry Square - a nice place with shops and a food court. Can park conviently in the Walnut Street Parking Garage and never have to go outside to enter the center. more

Whitaker Center 7/7/2005

I have been told this is a good place to go. I have not had the pleasure of visiting it yet. They may still also have the Titanic Exhibit. more
