Sundance Vacations is a scam! 1/12/2010

This company is a FRAUD. I also got suckered into going down to pick up the free cruise I had been given as a ""gift."" Now, the customer service agent was correct in that they never use the word ""won"". It’s just a matter of wording to keep their scams on the border-line of legal. And I understood that I had to sit through an hour of a sales pitch. which I was fine with. What I was not fine with were the LIES that they had told me in advance about this free cruise. \r \r LIE #1: I could go on the cruise at ANYTIME during the year. I was told repeatedly by the woman on the phone about how I could basically go whenever dates I wanted to, anytime during the next year. Well, that is a lie. When I received my vacation voucher, I looked at the fine print on the back page. You CANNOT use this cruise during the months of June, July, August, or any week of which there is a holiday. \r \r LIE #2: If I didn't use the cruise, I could do with it whatever I wished. I could give it as a gift or sell it. The fact is, you CANNOT. It clearly states that the name of the trip is non-transferable and cannot be sold. \r \r LIE #3: I was told airfare was included and that I could fly from my local airport. which is a major international airport. That isn't true. They tell you where to fly out of. For example, they mentioned Newark, New Jersey as a possibility. Plus, the fine print says it only includes ""base"" airfare. I'm not even sure what the fine print is on base airfare. \r \r LIE #4: I was told I would simply have to pay minor taxes on a trip which values at about 1, 200 dollars. Well, the taxes start at $225 dollars per person (35 percent tax???????) Plus, there are all kind of registration and booking fees on top of that. \r \r LIE #5: I was specifically told on the phone I would even receive free gift cards to Applebee’s, Red Lobster, and Olive Garden if I came to the 5pm presentation. When I inquired about them, the girl gave me a funny look and told me that ""they didn't give them out anymore because people don't use them."" What??? I was told only the DAY BEFORE I would be getting them. So, they gave me this piece of paper and said to go eat somewhere (anywhere), attach the receipt to the paper, send a self addressed stamped envelope, and I could get up to 15 dollars for my meal. I'm not holding my breath. Bottom line, this company is a fraud. They told me out and out lies about the cruise just to get me in. They are very shrewd. They have people designed to search these very blogs just to tell you how wonderful they are. There is an old saying. ""Me thinks thou protests too much."" If someone has to over and over again tell you about all the awards they won and how great they are...makes you wonder why...doesn't it????? \r \r Cons: Everything more

Sundance Vacations Sweepstakes 6/2/2009

NEWS FLASH! The Better Business has revoked Sundance Vacations' business accreditation. To read the full report type ""Sundance Vacations Better Business Bureau"" into the browser. If the page doen't load then read the ""Cached"" version.\r \r ""This experience was horrible. I received a phone call from a cheerful customer service type rep stating I won a free cruise on an entry form I filled out at a Flyers game. After questioning the rep I was told I did not win a vacation, but was being offered a gift, along with many others who filled the entry forms, in exchange for listening to 1 hour presentation to introduce there company, Sundance Vacations. I was told up front, I only needed to pay about $200 per person to go on the cruise. I was also told I would have a year to use this offer and nothing would be paid until I booked the cruise. I told the rep I would think about it and get back to them. My girl friend was cool to the idea so I did not call back. After multiple phone calls over the next month or so, we decided to give it a shot. We made an appointment and went to there Princeton office. After signing in, about ten of us were ushered into the presentation room. The presenter, the manager, said his presentation would only take an hour, then we could ask questions and we would be shown how to register for our cruise. However about 20 minutes into his ultra boring presentation he told us we could buy vacations at wholesale prices. They offer 25 vacations for $15,000 that could be used over the next 30 years. He said that would be $600 a vacation. Destinations were on Sundance properties in Hawaii, the Bahamas, Florida, Myrtle Beach, Mexico, Ocean City Md., Smokey Mountains and others. Nothing outside North America. He then told us about a “today only"" offer. Thirty vacations for $12,000 and smaller vacations for $198 a year off their excess inventory list. We later found out you could finance this amount through their bank at a probable high interest rate. Then you vacations would cost thousands more because you would have to pay the interest. How about travel, food, theme park tickets etc.? Sounded like you would be paying the same or more as you do now. Finally he pushed a button and a buzzer sounded and the sales people entered the room. They escorted you individually into a larger room to begin the hard sell. They tried to entice you into buying a package at rate above. Then they began to offer special deals (partial packages, trial plans etc.). They brought in an obnoxious closer. When we said no, she asked us “why not""? They tried to play my girlfriend against myself. After saying no about 20 times, they apparently finally gave up. You were next taken to a smaller room to talk to what we considered a small slimy man. He then proceeded to offer us deals that he stated “could not be offered out there."" We refused again. He seemed insulted. He offered us to our “prize"". He rudely handed us a pamphlet from a third party, Spirit Incentives, and told me to sign a list and follow the instructions on the back. Then I was shown the door. I started to ask questions first and found you had to pay for the taxes up front, had to pay a $100 reservation deposit and there were many blackout dates and restrictions. It looks like booking a cruise would a great deal of work. So after we made back to the parking lot after 2 miserable hours, my girlfriend told me, 'I owe her big time.'\r \r Peter\r Mount Laurel, New Jersey\r U.S.A.""\r \r Personally, I have alwas trusted the old adage: ""If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is""! avoid at all costs 5/14/2009

I signed up for this ""sweepstakes"" not knowing what i was going to get myself into. They call everyone who's number they collect non-stop. I had recieved 7 straight calls in 7 days, all left voicemails. I then called back to ask to have my number removed from their calling list. After a half hour of forwarding me around and endless arguing over how i am missing out on the greatest opportunity, they finally agree to remove my number. WRONG... i still recieve daily calls and voicemails. They refuse to remove me from their list and continue to call. I may have to change my phone number to get out of this. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. IF YOU SEE SUNDANCE SWEEPSTAKES, DONT SIGN UP Cons: repetitive calling, relentless arguing more
