Editorial review from Citysearch 6/26/2012

I recently took my large Lexus SUV to Sun Stoppers to have my windows tinted and all I can say is wow ? it was the most professional experience from start to finish and the end result was awesome! Ron Ellis(owner) greeted me at the door and did a great job explaining to me the different tint options and how they only use the best SunTek film. He then showed me many pictures of their work, which helped me decide what I should do on my car. After looking at all the pictures and talking with Ron I choose to tint the whole car. This is when Wes Ellis(installer/owner) stepped in to start the work. Wes did the most incredible and professional window tint job I have ever had. His work is flawless and super polished! Wes tints every window with great precision, giving the effect the tint was factory installed, also know as micro-edging. I will make sure to send everyone I can their way. There aren?t enough great things I can say about Sun Stoppers, as their knowledge and work speaks for itself. Don?t think twice give them a call! more

Incredible results for my HOME!! 5/16/2012

I decided to tint my home windows since I get both morning and afternoon sun. My town home temperature dropped dramatically the day they applied the film. I have a sun porch that is so hot in the afternoon I can't leave the curtains open much less the sliding doors. Now, I can leave my den door open and the temperature stays so cool I'm having to turn up the thermostat during the evenings to 75-76. UNREAL!!! Best investment I've done so far for my town home. I'm getting my car windows tinted tomorrow!!! The Owner Ron came over on Wednesday and my windows were done by Friday afternoon. I can't express how happy and satisfied I am. Great job guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Huge difference in the temperature without loosing the sun from shinning in. DON""T WAIT!! more

REMARKABLE!! 11/10/2011

After buying my new car, which is black, a friend of mine suggested that I get the windows tinted to help with the heat . She told me to go to Sunstoppers where her and her husband had had theirs done. After going to Sunstoppers and meeting with Mr. Ellis he explained to me all the benefits of window tinting for not just auto but for homes and businesses He offered to come to my home and do a free estimate. So not only did I get my car done I also had my home done as well. They installed the film on my home last week and it is incredible how much it has reduced to glare and heat coming in the windows. I could not be happier or more pleased with the results from both my house and my car. The employees were SO Professional thoughout the whole thing. From moving my furniture to cleaning up. I would advise anyone having heat or glare problems to consider window films. THANKS SUNSTOPPERS !!! more

Great! 11/9/2011

Went to Sun Stoppers on Longpoint Rd for the first time on Monday to get the back window of my truck done because the glare was driving me nuts. Met with Wes, absoultely nice, professional, and great guy. They used a good high quality film, and did an outstanding job. No seams, creases, or bubbles afterwards. Even cleaned both sides of the windows afterwards. more

Professional People & High Quality Work! 9/22/2011

Very professional and down to earth people. I had my 335i tinted all around without problems. Recently, I had to return to get a window re-tinted after I had to replace the window - very fast process! I can tell they value your business and do high quality work. If you're looking to get your car tinted in the Charleston area, I recommend Sun Stoppers! more

Great Service! 8/16/2011

Just wanted to say thank you for helping me with the window tinting on my new car. A friend referred me and I was clueless as to what I was doing. Without Sunstoppers help I couldn't have figured it out. Also thanks for taking me to work and picking me back up when my car was finished. Now thats service! Like I told y'all my husband will be back next week to get his car done. Great job! Thank you, Julie more

No Show for Appointment 8/11/2011

Terrible Experience. I had an appointment at 2pm and no one showed up. I finally left at 2:30 after trying multiple numbers and leaving messages. Very unprofessional. Left the door locked with a note saying they would be back for 2 and never showed. I am taking my business elsewhere and suggest you do as well. Definintely do not value customers and their time. more

Honest, Timely, and Professional 4/15/2011

Being new to the area, I researched online for a local window tint company and found Sun Stoppers. I read the reviews, both positive and negative, and realized that anyone with a computer can post online so I stopped in this afternoon and met Ron the owner and his son. The quote for my car was competitive and they were able to complete the job the same day. The type of tint they were going to use was demonstrated to me, the South Carolina laws regarding window tint were explained, and I felt at ease with the transaction. When I picked up my vehicle at the promised time, I was extremely pleased with not only the tint job but also the condition that my car was returned to me. I will be getting my wife's car tinted with them as well and will gladly refer business to them. If you are considering Sun Stoppers for a window tint job, give them a call or just stop by and I am sure that you will be just as impressed as I was with this company. more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE HAD WITH A BUSINESS OWNER 4/6/2011

I took my G-wagon for tint. in the process one of windows were severely scratched with a razor blade. The owner Ron had the glass replaced. I returned after the glass was replaced to to have the tint finished. Once the tint was installed, I was asked to check it out. As I was inspecting the tint, the wife(I assume) said I was not suppose to be in the shop...but before I could say a word, Ron came in the shop and said 'pay your bill and get the f... out of here' and then he threaten me by saying 'I ought to knock your teeth out'. He then slambed his bay door down and proceed to rant about allowing these boys to pay for the glass because they didn't scratch the glass. His wife then called the police I think because of the violence he was threatening. The police came and seprated Ron to get his version of events and myself for mine. The officer made me aware of my rights to press charges but I decided not to. Then when I went back in the shop they had removed all of the tint. I feel bad for his son's in the shop that they have to work for Ron(father). It would be better for them if he retire. more

Not dealing with an honest company. 9/23/2010

My headline says it all. Check your measurements against theirs. This is my first review. I just had to put a warning for you make an informed choice. Read the other comments left. I agree with the other comment. Who tells people that they are crazy for leaving a review? Someone like a manager or owner. more

Fantastic experience time and again 4/23/2010

I wanted to post a review for Sun Stoppers of Mt. Pleasant for their incredible work that they have done on not only my car which is a Yukon XL but on my house as well and my sons car which is an Audi. The work that the three men did was exceptional and I have never had a problem at all!!! I have read the other reviews and am shocked by the negativity that one of the reviewers posted - it sounds as if maybe it came from a competitor not a customer I can not imagine that I have had three wonderful experiences and that it went so wrong for the other guy. Anyway I will continue to speak highly of Sun Stoppers of Mt. Pleasant as well as continue using them myself when needed!!! Pros: friendly, reliable, stand by their work, professional Cons: NONE more

Bad Experience 12/6/2009

Time and money wasted. I would advise anyone to avoid the hassle of dealing with this company. Again like the other review I wanted to leave 0 stars. I would like to update my review. Every time a negative comment is left about this company a glowing one is left. The wording is a bit odd for a regular review almost as if someone had a personal stake in the ratings. Check out the comments left by the so called happy customers on the negative reviews. Deal with this company with extreme caution or you might be caught up with them as I was just leaving a review. I am amending my review again to add the particular fact that all of the so called positive reviews have only joined the the review page the day that they have left ONE and only one review. I am sure that this will be changed as soon as this is read by the so called interested party and another 5 star review that is similarly worded like the rest will just happen to pop up. Cons: Too many to list, about as honest as the positive reviews more

top-notch work and professional 9/30/2009

i am really surprised to hear a negative review about Sunstoppers. I have had three cars tinted by Sunstoppers and was very happy with the workmanship. I was also impressed by their facilities...very clean and a comfortable waiting area. I was also impressed to see some of the caliber of cars they work on . On one of my visits i got to see them finish tinting a beautiful Maserati coupe. The car looked great and the owner was very happy with the outcome. As far as the character of Sunstoppers i found the owner Ron to be a very nice guy and same goes for the installers West and Joey. They were all a pleasure to deal with and they all seem to take pride in their work. I have referred many people to Sunstoppers and everyone has had a great experience and were thrilled with their tint work. I would not hesitate to recommend Sunstoppers to anyone. I would say to anyone contemplating go down to their facilities and meet Ron ,West, and Joey and see their work and decide for yourself . To the guys at Sunstoppers keep up the great work! -Ryan Carson Pros: great workmanship, nice facilities more

more harm than good 4/21/2009

the window tint was satisfactory. it could have looked much nicer if a little more time was taken to install it. little things like some sloppy cuts on the film and small air bubbles could have been easily avoided in my opinion. the most upseting part of the experience was the damage to my vehicle. my headliner was significantly burnt during installation. i am assuming some type of heat gun (possibly a torch) was used to install the tint. it is a big vehicle and i didn't notice the burned area immediately. what ""burns"" me is the fact that they know they did it and then didn't tell me. they just let me drive off. speaks volumes of their character. the new headliner will cost 6 times the price of the tint. THANKS SUN STOPPERS! (i would have given 0 stars but you are forced to give at least 1) Cons: rushed through job more
