Sun Praire Apartments

As for someone who is getting married and eventually wants to get a house, Sun Prairie is a great place to "camp". The prices were in our range and we only had to pay for the electric. They also have a great deal with the electricity. When we went in to find our apartment, we really loved the fact that the staff was so knowledgable and that they had more than just one floor plan to choose from. My fiance works late at night and so I was worried about feeling comfortable or safe in the apartment, but I was very please to find out that they have 24 hour maintenance and management. Overall, we have been very pleased and have not had one complaint yet. I think that people sometimes have to realize that this is the city and you can't always control other's actions, ecspecially in an apartment complex. more

My family and I are starting our fourth year at Sun Prairie Apartments. When we first moved in, we realized how close to the interstate we were and were concerned about traffic noises interrupting our day to day lives. It was a little hard to get used to at first, having moved to West Des Moines from a smaller town but in a few days, it became complete background noise that we no longer realize is there. In fact, being so close to the interstate has become a blessing to us. In just a few short minutes from our front door, we are able to get onto the interstate. This is very nice for our family because we do a lot of activities that are down town, such as the Science Center of Iowa and the Civic Center. It also came in very handy the few times we had to take our daughter to the hospital. We were there in a few moments. We also had a problem with our upstairs neighbors when we moved in. At first, they were throwing loud parties on Friday and Saturday night. It was irritating but as it was the weekend we took it with a grain of salt. After they moved their partying to almost every night of the week and they began to wake my kids up after they went to bed, I had enough. I contacted the office and told them what had been going on above is. The problem was handled immediately and we didn't have a problem with noise from upstairs after that. I also must mention that this is the first apartment complex I have lived in where maintenance not only of the apartments but of the grounds are taken very seriously. The few problems I have had in the almost four years of living here, such as the garbage disposal quitting on me and the ceiling fans needing to be balanced, have been fixed in a very timely manner. The maintenance staff here is very professional. My family and I also take part in the community events sponsored by Sun Prairie such as the easter egg hunt, community garage sails and recently the litter for lollipops. more

I love this place!!! I strongly would suggest to rent here. The buildings are built very good I cant hear people waliking above me being on 1st floor. The window quilts are awsome and save me a lot of money on my elec. bill. I have lived here a year and my bill in a three bedroom has only been about $32 dollars. Thats great compared to paying $150 a month at my previous apartments and that the only utility bill that I pay. I love it here!!! more

I like it here! I have lived at Sun Prairie for 2 years now and I am prefectly happy with them. My apartment was clean when I moved in!! more

I've felt that the apartment complex itself is wonderful and the staff is very attentive. :) I like that they've tried to make it "homey" with the lake and the walking paths. I've walked as late as 9pm at night around the paths and haven't had any problems... aside from the occasional goose! more

As far as apartments go, it is a nice place. I have lived in two units and like both quite well. As far as staff, everyone seems friendly and outgoing, willing to help. Maintenance keeps up very well and they do well to get onto issues as soon as possible. I'd say its a good place to live, especially being located in the Jordan Creek area which is cool. All in all, I am happy with Sun Prairie as the best apartment complex I have lived in and know of. more

I have lived at Sun Prairie a couple of different times and this is going on my 4th year living here. They are prompt with repairs and very responsive to any other needs you might have. The location is great it is close to anything you could need. The landscaping is well taken care of and they do good job removing snow in the winter. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone interested in looking for a place to live. I have told several people I know that this is a great place to live. I like the smoke free environment too. Overall, We enjoy being here and will hopefully be here for several years to come. The staff at Sun Prairie are efficient and professional, the grounds are beautiful and the apartments are well maintained and have made a wonderful home for us. I would recommend living here to my friends and family and to anyone who is tired of living in an apartment and would like to have a home. more

I have lived at Sun Prairie for 2 years now and I am prefectly happy with them. My apartment was clean when I moved in!! After I moved in I thought of a few questions and I called their after hours number and they helped me which was super nice! I have only heard my neighbors 1 time and it was really loud so I called the after hours number again and they took care of it right away and I never heard them again. The best part is the low utility bills!!!!! Also I don't have to worry about paying all those little bills like water and trash, its all included! more

I love Sun Prarie. Despite what others say its quiet and nicely kept. There are no bed bugs as previously stated. Management has been beyond helpful especially with the recent fire which they gave people gift cards and food and the management and staff worked over time to help the people involved. Keeping in mind that most nasty comments are probably problems the tenants themselves have created because i have had nothing but a great experience there. Apartments are nice and the staff has always been helpful to me and the price for everything you get is unbelievable. I would highly recommend this apartment to my family and friends. more
