I have been going to this place for over 12 years... they are wonderful, caring, and informative... When my 16 year old Cocker spaniel was ill, and had to be put to sleep , they w...

Great Animal Care 1/13/2008

Studio City Animal Hospital helped us greatly very recently with our sick Cat. They quickly were able to asset exactly what was wrong with her and what was needed. They are true animal lovers and have a clean office that handles emergency visit well. more

Wonderful treatment for my cats 12/10/2007

They gave wonderful care to my two senior cats. Dr. Flanagan and Dr. Sykes (the primary vets for each of them) have been terrific through a series of major problems. Each cat came down with a major problem totally different from the other at almost the same time, and their treatment was thorough and caring, and they were always ready to explain or re-explain the diagnosis and treatment options when I got confused from the stress of having two crises simultaneously. I felt every test was justified and I was so grateful to have a clear diagnosis. And in my experience, the prices were reasonable and accommodating. The technicians and office staff were caring and attentive as well. This is the best vet by far that I have found since I moved to the San Fernando Valley, and equal or better than any I've ever had. more

avoid! 10/5/2007

absolutely terrible place! extremely expensive, terrible service. Always thought it was a great hospital while my dog was healthy until, God forbid, I actually needed it for an emergency. They made us go through countless and pointless exams and ran a tab that I would be ashamed to say how much. Felt like I was completely taken advantage of. Will never go back there again. Pros: clean, I guess Cons: cost! more

Kind, capable and caring 9/28/2007

This facility has very good people. Their credentials are matched by their attitude as fellow animal lovers. From routine exams and feline medical needs-to a terrible moment in my life when my cat had to be euthanized due to an inoperable cancer... These folks actually shared my grief, and made the terrible day as easy as can be. They do have a lot of Dr's, the advantage there is over multiple visits with a hard to diagnose affliction-You get the second (or third) opinion right there. With all due respect to another rather negative review-To me, that multiplicity of doctors is a is a HUGE plus. more

RUN! (Don't walk)! away from these incompetent frauds! 8/7/2007

10 y.o. cat, never been sick...suddenly DIES after receiving tx. here (AND after I spent over $5k for no apparent reason)? Flanagan is fine, THE AEC young male blonde doctor is the one who killed her...(Which is quite a mystery since she was fine when I spoke to Dr. Flanagan before he went off duty at 6 p.m. and by 9:30 p.m. the AEC doctor told me she suddenly "Wasn't doing so well and was not going to make it..." UM, WHAT!!!!!!?????? I STILL do not have ANY explanation for her sudden deterioration nor cause of death; (But then again the dr. at AEC was so worried about playing with his personal dog that he'd brought to work that night and the rest of the AEC staff so focused on getting their take-out food order together it didn't leave a lot of time left to focus on the care of my cat who clearly was not a priority). \r I have had an autopsy performed and will keep you posted on this forum re: my complaints to the CA. Vet Medical Board and outcome of future legal action. In the inter more

Great for exotic pet too! 6/16/2007

We went to see them for our uromastyx. (reptile pet shop owner goes there and referred to us this place)\r We couldn't find good herp vet until now. When we called them and told them we have a uromastyx, they schedule us to see herp vet who is working there. And they seem knowledgeable for these guys (exotic animals) then we felt comfortable. \r They say that commonly seen reptile at their place is iguana, the bearded dragon and uro. I am sure they will see others too, but just call them first if you have exotic animals. They might be able to help you. \r \r Our uro was totally fine, he was actually healthy. We see he had a infection before and he was getting better though still wanted to check him. \r We felt really better and they gave us antibiotics. Also, bill was inexpensive! more

GREAT PLACE - DR FLANNAGAN A HERO 4/21/2007

I'll make this short & sweet - but i've been going here with my cats (3) for 14 years - Dr. Flannagan is one of the best Dr.'s i've ever come across - he's sweet - he's caring, he LOVES the animals and he's smart as they come. Their staff is every bit as sweet and caring - i've NEVER met any indifference at this lovely vet. If you have a cat - u have to take him to Dr. Flanagan. That said - I've found all the doctors there to be absolutely exceptional. Truly. Also - if your cat is thrwing up and diarehing a lot - i reccomend PEDIA LITE - my GOD did it perk up my cat after all that throwing up - i just put it in a bowl and she actually finishes the bowl.\r David Weinstein. more

Put our Loving Cocker Spaniel to Sleep 4/18/2007

On April 17, 2007, our family did the hardest thing we have ever done, we put our loving Cocker spaniel, Oliver Jay of 15-1/2 years to sleep.\r \r Everyone at Studio City Animal Hospital, we loving, supportative, compassionate and wonderful. They took us right away when we came in, and talked us through the entire process. Ollie was comfortable, and happy, even though he was very sick. We had to wait for our daughter to come, and they were very patient with us. They left us alone with Ollie to morn his passing.... Thank you everyone for being there for us. They have been our vet for over 11 years, and we have another Cocker spaniel named Harry, who they take very good care of. We love you all, and thank you again for helping to make the most difficult decision anyone who has a pet has to make. more

Their The Best 3/6/2007

I have been raising dwarf hamsters form over 10 years and always take them to the docs at SCAH. I think they are one of the few vets (if not the only one in the Valley that I know of) that see animals besides cats and dogs. I have only had a problem with one of their staff members in the 10 years. Otherwise all their docs and techs are very knowledgable when it comes to my little babies. I have had to put down a few of my babies because they were untreatable but the staff were always there with a hug and understanding during my greif. more

Go see Dr. Flanagan 9/5/2006

I have taken my dogs there for the last 2 years, and although I am not crazy about some of the vets there, Dr. Flanagan is the best. Just make sure to request him. Not only is he great with my dogs, he treated my turtle as well. Love him! more

Great Vet, my dogs have been going for years 8/30/2006

I have been going to Studio City Animal Hospital for years, even through I moved to the westside, I still take my two dogs to the Valley. I have tried to go to the VCA's and were too harrassed with costs and unneeded treatments. Here, my two dogs get care and appropriate treatment in a caring and professional environment. Pros: Nice caring vets and office staff Cons: Sometimes inconvenient hours more

Great Care! 1/17/2006

I took my toddler rat to them when she was sneezing and wheezing. I was concerned that rats may be too exotic for them but they were great! The vet was very knowledgeable and caring and gave my rat the care she needed. The staff was also super friendly and seemed genuinely concerned with the well-being of my pet. I was very happy with their service and I highly recommend them! Pros: Handle Exotics, Friendly Staff, Professional Vet more

Great emergency care 11/5/2005

This is a great place for people who are unable to get veterinary appointments because they themselves are working during those hours. (And most vet offices are closed by the time you get off of work.) Now, I am not recommending it as a everyday solution as they are much more expensive than your regular vet. But you pay for the convenience of being able to take you pet during late and am hours. We have had several emergencies with our senior cat that required immediate attention. If not for this hospital I don't know what we would have done. The staff there has always been beyond friendly and the vets are wonderful! They are very kind and understanding, and do their very best to help your pet. One vet there actually had to repair a botched surgery our "regular" vet (at the time) had done on our cat. Our cat would not have been able to get the immediate care she needed if their hours were not so accomodating. I definitely recommend them but, again, just be aware that the cost more
