Editorial review from Citysearch 2/14/2014

This place is disgusting. I have a table tennis tourney that lodges here and I just won't stay. The place smells and has cockroaches. Avoid! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/12/2014

I would the most structurally unique hotel monument. Equipped with a free fall rude at the top where you can get a great view of Las Vegas as you drop. more

Affordable 1/29/2011

Affordable but not too clean , the hotel is located on the strip and close to the downtown area , so you can easily go to fremont or go to the big strip . more

Spy Camera in effect on Beach 25 Club topless pool 1/21/2008

Beach 25 Club topless pool doesnt need a 700 power zoom camera for security. This is a spy camera! Stay away unless you want your pictures on the Internet. more

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!! 4/6/2007

When we finally arrived to the hotel around 2 am there was a line of atleast 25 people waiting to check-in. My husband and I waited for an hour and 15 minutes just to check in! Our room was clean but that was probably the only nice thing about staying at the Stratosphere. The concierges were rude and seemed annoyed that I would dare ask a question about the area. We were not told about any shows, restaurants, or attractions and even had to wait 25 minutes to check-out EVEN THOUGH there was 1 person ahead of us. The pool area is ok but I didn't dare step into the water because it had an oily film on the top and there were several loud children playing volleyball. LEAVE YOUR KIDS AT HOME--Vegas is a disgusting, sleazy place that is NOT a good environment for children. I suggest staying at another hotel and leave your kids home! more

Fun place to stay at a great deal! 3/21/2007

If you're looking for a fun place to stay with a lot to do within your own hotel, be close to the strip, and still be in a reasonable budget, this is the place to go! You've got to ride the roller coaster at the top of the tower, overlooking the whole strip. It's a great value, has clean rooms, and still manages to be a blast! Pros: Great value, a lot of fun Cons: Can be crazy at times (which can be FUN!) more

A great stay 2/7/2007

This is a great spot for folks going to Vegas for the action and fun. If you aren't going to spend much time in your room, or in your own hotel for that matter, you'll do well to plunk down less cash for a moderately comfortable and very clean room in this hotel. I'm looking forward to staying here again in a few weeks. Pros: VERY clean rooms, good late-night food Cons: Not very close to the strip more

GOOD VALUE HOTEL 11/25/2006

Our first time going to Vegas and it was a last minute wedding that landed us at the Strat. It had the best prices three weeks out and we got a deluxe room in the Premiere tower for 300 dollars (Thursday thru Sunday).\r Strat is a bit far from the major areas of the strip. Expect 10-12 cab rides to areas around Venetian during peak traffic time. Monorail is another option and you can get good value passes but it puts you off two blocks from Strat, at the Sahara station. Appears to be a bad part of town but we were not bothered walking to and from that area, day or night. Also, if taking airport shuttle, expect around 14 dollars for two people each way.\r The casino and hotel appear contemporary and clean. Smoke was to a minimum and the casino floor spacious. Lucky's Diner is where we ate the most...midnight specials keep steak dinners under 8 dollars a person. Chicken fried steak and egg dinner was mighty tastey and this is from a Texan! Roxy's also had very palatable comfort food.\r Our room was large and clean but that's were the positives stop. The room was warm upon arrival and you can only lower thermostat to 69...stayed there entire trip and did not feel above 75 the entire time. Also, mattress was hard as a rock and our two pillows wafer thin. Were able to get more pillows via concierge but nothing could be done about temperature.\r Romance Lounge, stationed right above top of the world restaurant gave the best view in Vegas...great cocktails too. Bite, the topless show, was awesome. Had acrobatics that could rank up with Cirque down the street and if you stay at the Strat...tickets are two for one...and you get a free trip to Romance Lounge for that view and drink prior to showtime!\r Next time, we will opt for a hotel closer to the heart of the strip...even if it's older...we'll try just for a more comfortable bed and air conditioning.\r Strat was good for a first stay and would recommend if you're on a budget. Slots were also TIGHT! Pros: Price, Cleanliness, Food Options, Lack of Smoke in Casino, BITE! Cons: Comfort of bed, temperature, location away from heart of strip more

Great view 11/18/2006

From the top, you are truly on top of the world! The rollercoasters are incredible, but this place is just a little too far from the action in Vegas. On it's own, it is a wonderful time, but its proximity to everything else is too much. more

Nice place to stay 11/17/2006

For my first time in Vegas this was a nice place to stay, rooms were average, food was good, and the Viva Las Vegas show was great. more

old 11/16/2006

This is an old hotel with a old time feel. The roller coaster was not scary. And it was a good value but the rooms were bad. You pay for what you get. more

Not really on the strip 11/15/2006

I guess techically it is located on the strip but it is so far north it seems completely disconected with the rest of the entertainment and excitment of the strip. We stayed four nights for less then $250. That's a bargin if you have ever stayed in vegas. If you dont have a car I would not recommend this hotel. It is too far from the other casinos on the strip. We had fun in the pool and at the pool party they have on certain nights. The beds are solid. Some people like that so I dont hold that against the hotel but if you like a softer bed you might want to concider somewhere else. We saw American Superstars and Bite for half price just by asking for a cupon at the front desk. The buffet and cafe were both good. Pros: Pool, half price shows, and the rides on the tower Cons: Hard beds, location, and Timeshare vultures in the lobby more

Great place to stay for affordable price 11/11/2006

I have stayed here several times over the past years and have not yet been disappointed. They offer nice rooms for a very conservative price, which is why I keep going back. The staff is always been friendly and kind. The food is good at their restaurants and the shopping mall is where I can totally spend a lot of money. The best place to set the mood is the restaurant at the top called the top of the world. It has a great view of the strip at night and it rotates, very cool. more

NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE AT ALL 11/10/2006

sure the location is very scary, and you dont feel safe leaving your car in the garage, but the hotel is not bad at all, good sized rooms, clean and comfortable, bargain priced $79.00 on a friday night!! on the strip!! good gaming, bargain prices in there shoping area, if you are on a budget and you wont be venturing outside the casino at night it is a great bargan. Pros: cheep and clean, good gaming odds Cons: location very scary!! more

decent place, decent price 9/5/2005

The room we had was fairly nice, all you should find in a hotel room, good A.C. Beds were comfortable. We had minor room problems and room service was very prompt. Express check-in is available and I would recommend it. The casino is nice, well spaced out with a tall roof so it does not get very smoky. Decent poker room. The buffet is a good value. Lucky's cafe has good steak specials. Pros: price, gaming area, service more

Snack Bar Owners Need to Grocery Shop! 7/19/2002

While visiting Vegas last month, we decided to stop at the Stratosphere for lunch and some arcade games one day. We walked around the shopping ""mall"" and stopped at this Argentinian(?) snack bar which seemed to have a good menu. Well, we placed our orders and my son & I got our food. My husband, however, was informed that they ran out of the item that he asked for & he'd have to order something else. He picked something else out and sat down. A couple of minutes later, the girl beckoned and informed him that they ran out of THAT item as well. Turns out they didn't have much of anything. Never heard of a snack bar running out of groceries! more

Great place to stay.... 6/27/2002

This was a great pleace to stay! The rooms were very nice, and well kept. The casino is quite big. the waitresses come around often. What can I say, I won some$$ and lost some$$. The buffet was an excellent deal, better than most. We didn't get on the roller coaster ride at the top, we felt it was kind of pricey. So we opted out. Over all a great this was a great place to stay, great views of the city and convenient to all attractions. more

""TOP NOTCH"" 6/2/2002

Best ""bang for the buck"" on the strip! Booked 1 month in advance to avoid trouble and it worked perfectly. Tower room with jacuzzi tub was more than adequate. Service was fast and friendly. Great view. VERY loose slots and video poker! Excellent restaurants. Some type of free entertainment going on all the time. Not the best decorum but equally close to downtown on one side and strip on the other for seeing the sites. Best part was all employees went out of their way to assist us in any way and always with a smile. Pros: Super Fast Valet, Friendly Service, Best Value Cons: Bland Looking Casino more
