I have a friend who used you to take care of a loved one.. YOU HELD THEIR DEPARTED UNTIL THEY COULD PAY??? I realize you are in the business to make money,and that you do it off of severely emotional people. You come in at a time of grief,WITH ALL THE FINESSE OF A JACKBOOTED STORM TROUPER. Once again I know you are in it to make a profit off the dead. I understand capitalism..Yet you cannot even fake compassion? Act like you actually give a dam?I am going to make it my mission to blog,Facebook and tweet about how cold,callous and uncaring you really are.Maybe we can even put you out of business. I hope so. more

I went to this funeral home several weeks ago, but am just now able to write this. I was inquiring into prices because my mom was very ill. The people I talked to (I'm sorry, I was too upset to get their names) were very cold once they found out my mother was still alive. They even were heartless enough to ask ""Well, when do you think she is going to die? Can you try to guess?"" I left in tears. My mom passed away last week, and needless to say, I did not use this home. I recommend that you do not even contact Stoudenmire, as this whole experience was very unpleasant. more

Since 1946? Did you take lessons from Hitler himself? So people live out their lives and have to die only later to see their family facing YOU! You are cold hearted, mean to the core taking advantage of families when they are most vulnerable! Keep in mind some day you will die. One of YOUR loved ones will die(If snakes like you have room in that cold heart of yours for loved ones). This is how you treat families in mourning? I hope the last family you shafted IS the last family you ever serve, if you even consider that service. I have to give you a rating? I will give you one star. But you don't even deserve that. more

Our family recently lost a close family member that we loved very much. He was such a kind and humble person. A TRUE friend to those who knew him. He struggled financially as he had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis since 10th grade. We were asked what funeral home to use, and Stoudenmire-Dowling came to mind. BIG MISTAKE! Granted, our loved one had no insurance, so we relied on what we had and the contributions of friends/family. Mr. S. Dowling was VERY rude and pretty much treated us like scum because we were struggling a little to raise the money for the services. When I emailed him asking if he would take the $500 we had raised so far to go towards the first half, he literally chuckled and responded, ""NO MA'AM .... ad I thought we made that clear on Thursday!"" He then went on to say ... ""I think we have gone above and beyond the call of duty as we have not yet seen ONE DIME!"" I have THIS in writing from him in my email mailbox. I was shocked at how rude and cold-hearted he was - Especially at a time like this. However, he will be paid in FULL today, as it seems our loved will be held hostage until we pay his ransom. People have really come together to help us because of the way we were treated and hurt by Mr. Dowling. Stay Away .... Do not subject your family to the rudeness of the employees there. They're just in it for the money ... NO COMPASSION! more
