Last Sept. my mother hired this contractor. Jeff with Stonehouse CONSTRUCTION to add a 700sq ft addition on to our home. Mother in law apartment. He was verified and found through one of the "find a contractor" websites. He's taken all of her money and not finished the project. Our finish date was FEBRUARY 1ST. Today id August 26th. Literally he played on her kindness and kept asking for more and money. She's now paid the project basically in full. $77 000. Also, a seperate contract for $3200 to build cabinets that he has never produced. She doesn't, nor do we have the money to pay someone else to finish this. She spent the rest of her retirement money on this. She's on disability and has nothing left. We're left with about (in my estimate ) 15-25k worth of work left to be done. Jeff is not paying his subs either. Four subcontractors have come to my door over the last 6 months talking about leins on our property, but we've already paid through him. He steals, he lies and he's a con artist. He owes these subs for other jobs, not just ours. Stay as far away from this company and man as you can. Run, do not walk, the other way
