Stereo East

I went to Stereo East because they are the only store that carries a particular line of PSB speakers I was interested in. I had read some reviews which have not been great but my feeling on reviews is that typically only angry people write them. One of their sales guys came out to my house to help me decide what would be right for my room. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. I ended up purchasing my Media room package from them at a fantastic deal and couldn't be happier. The tech's were flat out awesome. They set up a universal remote for me that's so simple, even my wife can use it. I definitely recommend them. more

After closing on a new home with a media room, my girlfriend and I started shopping for a "blow your mind" media room without blowing our budget. I first went to Stereo East and was so blown away with their quality, patience, and level of knowledge that I felt the process was almost too easy... so I made it difficult on myself.I continued to shop at 4 other local media companies and none of them could come close to Stereo East's professional curtesy, showroom, friendly atmosphere, or any other positive adjectives I have used previously. :) The 1st was like a used car dealership -wheeling and dealin'. Yet the prices were higher than Stereo East, I felt very rushed with a quote the second I arrived, and they seemed more interested with showing me their "Wall of Jerseys" then actually talking with me. "I don't care who's house you've installed what in, you are working on my house now and that is what matters."The 2nd and 3rd were quick to come to my house and price everything they could find. I was in the middle of hanging a tv downstairs and they included the hanging of the tv in their quote. I felt more like they were scoping my house than actually trying to make it better.The 4th was very kind and knowledgable about some parts of the home theater process, but overall I felt that they only knew about the projector and could recommend a good audio system to go along with it.After a month of running around I still felt that Stereo East was the best choice. Through this entire process Anthony Mategrano kept in good contact and left his door open. At this point I asked Stereo East to survey my home and Kenny didn't disappoint. Again with the utmost professionalism, attention to detail, and answered each and every one of my questions. I pulled the trigger at that point with Stereo East but their patience and helpfulness didn't end there. They humored my meticulous nature and together we walked through the picking of each and every speaker. This included making some adjustments to their demonstration rooms at my request more

Their product selection was minimal and their lead times for installations were extremely long. The higher end companies put way too much emphasis on "stain guard and undercoating" type add-ons to drive margins and total ticket price. And their products and prices seemed to start at a lot higher level than we were comfortable with. more

For starters, we felt like the Stereo East product selection was superior to anywhere else we'd been. We definitely had the feeling that we could have spent as little or as much as we wanted and gone as small or as over-the-top as we wanted with your product selection. You beat your competition handily with your products by offering such a wide range and not feeling too high end or too low end. That made a huge difference right from the start because we didn't feel like we were getting inferior equipment, but also didn't feel like our hands were tied with having to go with super-high-end equipment that we really didn't need. More than the products, though, from the minute we came in the door, Anthony made us feel very comfortable as he held our hands throughout the entire process. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative and did an outstanding job of communicating to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted and needed. He never made us feel like he was pushing his agenda or fluffy add-on item more

Spoke to them about pulling some cable for my own diy installation. As soon as they discovered there were no large margins in the sell of equipment, they rudely declined quoting me for such services. I am gladly giving my money to another installer in the area. more

The process has been completely fantastic. Everyone has been great. The store experience was very relaxed and informative and the installers were amongst the best installation experiences I have ever had. I'll definitely give referrals. : ) more

The installers were excellent! They were very prompt, neat and clean. I did receive lessons on the system and I am extremely happy with the performance as well. The sales staff was excellent and helpful, and I would most definitely recommend Stero East to any family/friends or strangers!! more
