Valentines Day Disappointment 2/14/2009

First off, this is not an inexpensive restaurant and I have enjoyed going in the past. But if there is a special day avoid this at all costs. I was completely disappointed on valentines day. We were seated in the BAR on rented tables, like the kind used in outdoor weddings, staples sticking out of the table thru the tablecloth. What's worse is it was overcrowded, you could not have an intimate conversation and you were subjected to hearing everyone else around you and their conversations. And last but not least, they LEFT the bar TVs on and on sports. Pros: not much - not even the food was stellar Cons: Ambience, service, location of the table, atmosphere, etc more

GROSS! 11/29/2008

When you walk into Steamers it looks and smells like a 60 year old Dennys. Pros: Mcormick and Shmicks is across the street. Cons: Overpriced. The food is nasty. more

Fantastic Seafood; Extremely Pricey; Classy Setting 11/13/2006

My wife and I had a great romantic dinner indoors here. Service was good. I had the shrimp cocktail with two giant prawns and some crab... good but overpriced at $17. I also had a bowl of chowder, which was a steal at $6 and chock full of plump clams.... some of the best chowder I've ever had. My wife had the ahi tuna, which was melt in your mouth delicious over a wasabi mashed potatoes. Some of the best tuna we've had, but you've got to love extremely rare fish. Someone else ordered the clams casino and it looked like an excellent appetizer. This is a great seafood restaurant, with some of the best seafood I've had in years, but hold on to your wallet. A plate of fish will set you back $26-35. Pros: Amazing Seafood; Classy Decor Cons: Price more

some meals good 9/22/2002

The rare ahi tuna is good (although very rare), the halibut is flavorless and poor texture, the grouper was bland, a white fish with white asparagus that was tough and white potatos- didn't even look appetizing. The shrimp coctail didn't have enough horsradish and the shrimp bisque was pretty good, but not enough sherry and tasted pasty- I didn't even finish it. Also the service was slow- we waited 15 min. between the time they took our appetizer plates until the main course was served. Although the bussing staff was good at keeping the water filled. more
