We recently used State Auto Electric on SR 520 in Merritt Island, FL. The starter went on our boat so we removed it and brought it down to them. The guys there disassembled the starter right there, as I waited, to diagnose the problem and provide an estimate. Before they opened it they explained that a typical starter repair runs between $60 to $180. They took the time to show me the broken magnets inside and explained how it had happened (previous owner banged it with a hammer). Unfortunately it could not be repaired but the good news is... they got me a brand new one for $125. Here is the amazing part. This was Friday afternoon of 4th of July weekend.... and they were actually apologizing that they could not have it in until Monday. Overall great, fast, cheap service. We will definately use them again.
