For individuals suffering from lack of sleep, a first step is typically to undergo a sleep study with an overnight stay, being monitored electronically and visually to diagnose the problem. Patients come to the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Sleep Disorders Center for the sleep study and for follow-up to learn about CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) devices and technologically advanced methods to promote good health with a good night's sleep.
Participants are encouraged to bring their CPAP equipment for pressure checks. A representative will be on hand to answer any questions and concerns regarding equipment. Dr. Lauren Davis, medical director for the Sleep Disorders Center, or a guest speaker will present a different topic of interest to the group each meeting. The meetings will keep you informed of new equipment and provide updates from other sleep disorder organizations.
