Sports Cards Etc - Robinson 4/20/2010

This store has it all. If you like to buy packs and boxes to open this is the store for you. They carry pretty much every product that is released in every sport including racing and some non sport. They also stock a lot of older boxes and packs from the past 10-15. If you need supplies to put your collection in they have that too in every size and shape. I am not into racing but they stock a bunch of die-cast cars if you collect those. They are also open 7 days a week. Lastly, their prices are in line with most retail stores and they also offer a discount program for regular customers so you can save more money that way also. Pros: Tons of product and lots of open hours. Cons: Too Hard to decide what to buy sometimes more

Best Card Store in Pittsburgh 4/20/2010

I recently moved to the Pittsburgh area and have been a life long card collector. I found SportsCards Etc shortly after moving to Pa and wish I would have had a shop like this in NY. They have the largest selection of unopened packs and boxes of anywhere I have ever seen. And I have seen a bunch as I travel for work quite a bit. They also stock virtually every type of card supply made. Boxes, Screwdowns, Pages and so on. You name it and they have it. In addition they have millions of cards available ranging from the brand new all the way back to the early 1900s. They do not have all of their singles on site so depending on what you want you may need to let them know in advance. In addition, they keep great hours 7 days a week so I dont have to worry about when I am going to stop. Someone is there. Lastly, their prices are very comparable to any of the other retail stores I have been in around the country. Pros: Incredible Selection, Open 7 days a week, reasonable prices. more

BEWARE OF SELLER'S. 2/6/2010

I have purchased a few items from this store, they are way overpriced and want to get every penny they can from you to profit, they use excuses about staying in buisness etc etc, we here that alot. The manager got way out of line with me and harrassed me after i made my purchase after he tried to demand more money from me after he claimed he made me a deal, "" let me see your wallet "" i almost blew a fuse and thought about kicking his ass. Sport Card's etc, is very unprofessional ppl and are looking to scalp from distributors and jack up prices to rediculous inflated levels. I have found and talk to many other dealers in the area, they have all told me bad things after my last experience. I was also denied a receipt, and the manager that was working told me he was going to alter his cash register to make up for state tax, which is is fraudulent, i am working legally in this matter so it never happens again. Most def shop online, ebay, blowout cards, etc. better deals and they charge what the item should be not what they want the price to be, BE AWARE OF THIS BUISNESS WILL NOT BE AROUND TO MUCH LONGER. Also do not be fooled by their false claims of bring in your receipts for a discount or a ticket for a x amount of money on your next purchase, it will never happen. I only shopped there bc they had what i wanted at the time when i was in the area shopping, I will never give buisness to scum like that again. All of their boxes are marked SALE, it is not a sale its a inflated price they bring down so they want you to think you are saving but they are actually getting more money than they should be. For such a small building with tons of clutter and lil electricity use, im sure it takes a ton of money to ""keep them in buisness""...\r \r thank you for reading.. Pros: decent selection. Cons: prices, damaged box's, poor atitude with customers. more

High prices, excellent selection 2/26/2009

SportsCards Etc has two locations, one in Pittsburgh (don't be fooled by the McKees Rocks address), and one in McMurray, PA, but they have two things in commmon - an excellent selection of cards, especially unopened packs and boxes (one of the best inventory you'll find), but their prices are very high. \r \r Expect to be charged the absoloute maximum price here. I've shopped there for over two years, and I've never received any type of discount or a deal when purchasing, and the biggest sales are on junk cards (who wants unopened 1993 Score and 1983 Donruss packs anyway??). They do discount their older unopened boxes of packs, though, so you can look for lower prices there. They also have a very good selection of hobby supplies - not just top loaders and penny sleeves, and they carry a full line of Ultra Pro products.\r \r They're highly organized and sell quite a bit online, but if you're looking for great deals, look elsewhere. Also, check the CONDITION of individual cards that you buy; they tend to charge higher than normal prices for off-condition cards, as well.\r \r On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate them an 8 for selection of individual cards, a 9 for unopened packs and boxes, and a 8 for hobby supplies, but about a 3 for their prices. Overall, I'd rate them about a 6. Pros: Excellent selection and variety of products Cons: High prices, no apparent willingness to deal more
