Want to get wet 9/29/2006

Ok so picture this---- Its late fall and you're already sick of the cold weather! Why not take a trip with your family here- Splash Lagoon! http://www.splashlagoon.com/ This is a great indoor water park in Erie, PA. The temp is always 86 with water temp of 84... This is the perfect place to visit with kids of all ages. They have numerous water slides , some that go outside of the building and back in, some that are pitch dark, others that squirt water at you while you're going down, fast ones, slow ones. My favorite was the Cyclone--- Honestly made you feel like you were riding in a toilet bowl--- swish swish round and round until it finally dropped you into another slide and into a pool of water- Lazy rivers, open pools with activities for the kids (basketball hoops, alligators to climb on) kiddie pools, with water shooters and kiddie slides.. Hot tubs for the kiddos and 1 for the family, and 1 adult hot tub! It is so much fun here- We went for 2 nights and 3 days- I felt like a prune when we left! You basically stay in your swimming suit--- They sell dippin dots, and have a restaurant.. Best pizza around! (a bit pricey), bar/lounge on top floor with big windows to watch out if you dont enjoy the water but want to watch the action. They have a huge game room! arcade- Laser Tag... We have always stayed right in the hotels that are attached... Its a package deal- Lots of parking if you go for just the day- The hotel across the street has a charter bus that takes you back and forth- Just booked our trip for this November! My daughter cant wait! Alot of shopping around the area--- and great places to eat- look for my review of Quaker Steak & Lube-- : ) Best chicken wings around they claim! So why not call and get rid of the Fall Day Blues! They always have special packages-- Prices differ throughout the year-- Cheaper in the summer--- Less busy too-- But much nicer in the Fall & WInter... more

Indoor fun anytime! 11/27/2005

This is truly a gift to the Erie area who, face it, doesn't get a whole ton of nice sunshiney weather! What I loved was that I didn't have to feel like I was missing out on the fun because I didn't feel like swimming. I purchased a nice drink and nestled in with a book on the top floor to watch the fun and frolicking below. The kids could come up and see me when they wanted and we could take a time out for lunch and go back to playing. It was truly a relaxing day for me. I'm not really sure there is an 'off season' for this place as it can be packed winter, spring, summer or fall. When there are big crowds of soccer families in the area you may as well avoid the place because it's just too crowded but on a normal weekend or even a weekday if you can get a day off from the grind it really is a pleasant place to spend the entire day. Don't go if you can't spend the entire day because at the cost per person you will want to stay and get your money's worth. I was a bit taken aback with prices for food and such and nothing can be brought in. Parties can be had but at a substantial cost. I found that purchasing their package deals, which include a room, were really the best deal as it is all inclusive. It is definitely a great time and place for fun and something that Erie should really cherish not only as a tourist attraction but as something to keep our own local families entertained during the long winter months or not so hot summers we can have! more

Who would of thought 10/7/2005

Who would of thought that a indoor water park would work in cold, snowy Erie? Well, it did! Splash Lagoon is one of the more recent Scott Enterprise productions. A heated, year round, indoor water park with slides, food, games, ect. You can also get a package with a hotel room if you are coming from out of town. Everyone should try Splash Lagoon just once. It is a family friendly environment with many different activities for all ages. more

Splash Lagoon is a Favorite 8/23/2005

If you get a chance to go to Splash Lagoon -- go! It has many slides, great food and just a relaxing atmosphere. It is so much fun. I highly recommend it for families, but my husband and I have also gone by ourselves for a few hours. Don't miss it! They have a large children's area where the water is only a few inches high which is great for the little ones. It's just a great experience that your children will love, especially in the winter months to break the monotony. more

Fun Place for All 7/31/2005

This is a new concept for our area but people are flocking from all around. Splash lagoon is an indoor water park with climate control to about 80º all year round. There are pools and slides and a big bucket that dumps water. All kinds of fun things for the kiddos and anyone young at heart. Best deal is a package with any Scott owned hotel and water park tickets. more
