This used to be sports center and with Spectrum you get more upgrades in equipment and services. There is tennis, basketball, a pool, steam and sauna and all the weights and card...

This used to be sports center and with Spectrum you get more upgrades in equipment and services. There is tennis, basketball, a pool, steam and sauna and all the weights and cardio including classes. I would like to see an upgrade in the men's locker room but other than that one of my favorite clubs in the South Bay. Check it out. Pros: Great views, variety of amenities Cons: Parking more

Best Summer camp Program 5/21/2008

As a parent of 3 children under the age of 10, I would highly recommend the summer camp program in Redondo Beach. I am currently enrolling all 3 again this summer and looking forward to another great summer program. The camp counselors are very attentive and professional. They are very hands-on and are wonderful with all age groups. Every day is a different theme, some days with entertainment or characters, some days are rock walls and go-carts! The kids had a blast and are inviting all their friends to participate this summer. more

Best Birthday Ever!!!! 4/23/2008

I was looking for a special place to have my daughters 7th birthday. I was encouraged to contact Spectrum Club in Redondo Beach by several people because of the outstanding enclosed outdoor play area. The area includes 2 bouncey houses, picnic tables, a ping-pong table and a childrens play structure. The birthday coordinator was extremely helpful and excited to put together a party exactly the way I wanted. The staff was very friendly and assisted us with the set-up, planning a time schedule for activites, and clean-up. My daughter and her guests were having so much fun we extended the party an extra 2 hours! We will definitely plan and recommend the Spectrum Club in Redondo Beach for all our future party events. Pros: terrific outdoor play area, friendly staff and a great location next to the beach. Cons: None more

Best gym 8/22/2007

great price, have everything...even great members. A few weeks ago, after my workout, I noticed a party by the pool, so I stayed for a drink. I know it sounds odd to have a cocktail at your gym, I had never heard of such a thing. It wasn't cheesy and I had a ball and met some new friends. The club also has treadmills in an room that has a removable ceiling, so it feels you are running outdoors. Great club and nice members! Pros: removable ceiling, outside spinning, parties and nice members Cons: none so far! more

Yoga Studio classes are amazingly good 4/18/2007

IThis fitness club offeres such high quality yoga classes, better than most yoga studios and with so many classes to choose from all day and night long. The yoga instructors are super qualified and have such a great attitude and are so helpful. Spectum Redondo Beach offers Kundalini, Ashtanga, Basic, and Vinyasa flow yoga classes. The Yoga studio is the perfect size, not too small and not too big. I will definitly tell my friends that this great Yoga studio inside this beautiful fitness club has all of the benifits and none of the downsides of a traditional yoga studio, including child care and showers! Best Group Fitness schedule in town 4/18/2007

This casual and beachy club has one of the best Group Fitness schedules in town. There are so many great classes to choose from and the instructors are top notch. I love the cycling studio with the dimmed lights and new star tek bikes. The outdoor spin classes on the weekend are amazingly fun, with fantastic views overlooking the Marina. Best Atlethic Club in South Bay 3/27/2007

When I first moved to Redondo Beach I kept hearing about Spectrum and finally one day I went there and was so happy because I made right desission. Customer Service is so good there, everybody friendly, helpfull and always smiling. They great me when I come in and on my way out. Work out is great, I can watch sunset when running on the tread mill, or can have some sun tan while lounging on the pool deck. I heard kids club is amazing too. They always have some kind of event going on for members as thank you. I would recomend this club to anybody with any lifestyle. Just amazing. more

Life Saver 3/26/2007

With 3 kids, I admit I have had a hard time tryining to balance me time and family time, but this club has offered me and my family some well deserved space. My girlfried who has 2 kids introduced me to the club about 6 months ago and I have been a regular ever since. The kids are entertained and I have 2 hours or more a day that I can use for whatever I want. My daughter is in love with one of the girls that works there and have to crawl in after my boys to get them out of the bounce house. Anything that can be done to help me burn energy out of these three is a winner in my books. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the child care and the service that they have provided for mom. Top Pick. Pros: Amazing Child Care more

Great child care and facility....staff is TONS of fun and very energetic!! 3/21/2007

I needed a place to work out without worrying about dragging my children against their will. I fell in love with this place after the first time!! They have a wonderful staff, a beautiful facility and even better, it's right on the beach. I decided to have a Birthday Party and was blown away by the amount of fun the kids had. I highly recommend them if you need time to concentrate on yourself without the added worry. more

golf 3/20/2007

I have been a member here for 3 years now and the best thing this club ever did was install the indoor driving range. I get in 4 times a week to work on my swing which is more than I ever could before. Far be it for me to not give credet where credit is due. Golfers give this one a look. more

so excited 3/20/2007

I just moved here from San Diego and was really concerned about finding a club that was like my old club. Leaving my health club was probably the hardest part of the move, but this place fits the mold perfectly. Just the right amount of traffic, not too crazy, but it's not dead. And the classes are great! I'm a cycle yoga junkie and this fits me like a glove. I would definitley reccomend checking this place out if you are in the market for a new club. They have all the bases covered. Pros: great classes and service more

Really excited 3/20/2007

I just moved here from San Diego and this is just like my old gym. I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to find something that had the atmosphere I was looking for. This place has great quality classes, and just the right amount of traffic for me. Not too busy, but it isn't dead either. If you just got relocated like I did, I would definitely check this place out. Well worth the trip. more

Best Business Practices 3/14/2007

Sunday afternoon my wife and I generally make a practice of biking the strand. We enjoy a little fresh air, get a little exercise, and do a little people watching. It gets me out of the house. This past weekend, when we got to the marina, we both noticed a great big tiger, lots of balloons and a fire truck. Naturally being the curious attorney that I am, we swung over to check out all the comotion. I never knew this but right in the marina is an amazing little health club with all the bells and whistles. Apparently it has been around for years and was just recently taken over by Spectrum. They were throwing a little carnival for the members complete with stilt walkers, reptile houses, free burgers and beer. After asking around I got one of the staff to show my wife and I around. Now I'm not the impulsive type, but the look on my wife's face and the impeccable attention to detail I saw exhibited by the staff while we were there, was enough to make the decision for me. We got set up on a basic membershihp with this ingenious rewards program that will hopefully move me closer to my 34 inch waist. 5 Start Experience more

lifes little pleasures 3/7/2007

I can read my book by the pool, work on my tan and get a little golf in as well without having to cart my clubs with me. This club is my retreat from work and I do my best to indulge at least twice a week. Pros: Low Traffic, great view, friendy people Cons: needs cabana boys :) more

Thank God it's now Spectrum!!!!!!!!!! 3/2/2007

I almost cancelled my membership when it was Sportcenter, but the changes Spectrum has made are unbelievable! I just added my 17 year old on last week and finally got my husband's butt off the sofa and in the gym. This is definitely an upgrade in service and facility. A+++ more
