Spampinato's Italian Restaurant

My husband and I had a 6:45 reservation on a Saturday night, however we didn't seem to need it because the upstairs dining room was empty when we arrived. I suppose they were short staffed as instead of seating us in the empty upstairs, they put us in the downstairs dining room with a large loud birthday party. We waited 15 minutes for our server to come greet us and open our bottle of wine. We had the bruschetta and the roasted peppers to start and they were both okay. We also waited a long time for our entrees to come out. My husband had the veal saltimbocca which he liked but was very small for the price. I had the cheese ravioli which were good but I'm not a fan of their marinara sauce. For the dessert, we had the zuchetta, which was good but too heavy on the chopped walnuts which overpowered the whole dessert. I had to refill my own wine glass each time it was empty. My husband was drinking beers and actually had to ask another waitress for a bottle opener. She brought one to us and dropped it on the table instead of opening his bottle for him. We then had to wait quite a while for the waitress to bring us our check. Once she brought the check back with my husband's credit card, she picked it right back up with the credit card still in it, and he had to chase her down to get his card back. Overall, it was a bad experience and the food was not that great. We definitely won't be back. Cons: Poor service, loud, not romantic more

I've been here numerous times - all with a group. You can reserve a private room upstairs - even for small groups of 8-10. Order family style and bring some wine and it makes for a fun night out. I don't think it has the best italian food I've ever had - but definitely worth it if you need a place for a group! Pros: Private rooms for small or large groups Cons: Parking more

Have been to Viggianos several times in the past. It continues to be a lovely restaurtant with polite and knowledgeable waitstaff. Food as always is exceptionally good and well prepared. Last night had reservations for 4 (2 couples) at 7:30pm. The place was crowded and a little loud but it started to die down. We had great service and the food was done well. Our server also helped us with our entree selections. I love that you had choices to share (family style) entrees or have your own entree. This restaurant is owned and operated by a family of 11. I find it amazing that every of them are in some way involved in the success of the business. My personal experience has been that they truley do care what you think and want your feed back. They strive to make your time with their family most enjoyable and will do what it takes to do so. They put much effort into everything from the food to the atmosphere. Most of their servers have been there since they opened, even some of them are the children of the owners.
