I went there expecting something more hectic but it was completely amazing from beginning to end. The music, the products, the environment was absolutely soothing. I was very pleased with my entire experience with Spa Newbury. I found the staff member who booked my appointment over the phone to be extremely enthusiastic, friendly, and pleasant. Her energy made me look forward to my appointment. Once I came in, I was greeted very warmly by both staff at the desk. The reception area was really lovely. I appreciated the decor, and relaxing water fountain. My massage therapist for the evening was Anne, who gave a wonderful massage! Fantastic! I had the Aromatherpy Facial today, as part of Spa Week and had an amazing time. The owner, Selena, actually did the facial and she was fantastic, really taking into account that I have highly sensitive skin. I walked out of there feeling completely fabulous. She showed me some products she used without being pushy at all and I had such exceptional service I was amazed. I look a little more street punk than the average Newbury St spa goer and have had poor experiences in the past because of it, but Spa Newbury treated me the same as if I had walked in wearing head to toe Gucci. It didn't matter who I was, it mattered that I was a client, and was treated with respect and kindness. The prices are a bit too high for me to go regularly without a discount (though not bad compared to other Newbury St spas!), so unfortunately my return visit will have to wait a while. I feel VERY comfortable giving the spa (or at least their facials) five stars more

well this place is the first and only time i've ever gone to a spa, but my sole experience here was A+. I got my back waxed for our wedding and they did a terrific job. They don't use wax, but a honey type mixture. This was my first time ever doing this and I think I discovered I have a slight masochistic side, because I actually enjoyed the sensation of getting my hairs ripped off. Anyways I feel more qualified to review because my wife has gone here and several other spots on newbury street to get waxed and this has been the only place that has not left her legs irritated. Innovative Friendly Relaxing Welcome Happy Comforting Luxurious I'm one lucky gal! All these words came to mind when I walked up the few steps and into the very lovely Spa Newbury. This particular spa has none of that snobbish feeling that I've gotten at other spas on Newbury. The gentlemen who was the front desk attendant was beyond kind and had such a pleasant demeanor the entire time I was there. He immediately greeted me, asked me to fill out the intake form and gave me a stainless steel cup very cold and very refreshing lemon-infused water. They also had a plate of cheese, crackers, and thin cookies. HOW NICE! I saw Beth LaFortune for a mud wrap/massage for my back. It was very nice and very relaxing. The room I was in was modern and comfortable. The music they play is very spa-esque and it fit the atmosphere. After my wrap I went into their pedicure room for a mini-reflexology treatment and foot scrub with Beth. It was truly spectacular. Spa Newbury uses crystal mud (it's pink) -- I have no idea how to describe this but it felt like very warm jello that you immerse your feet into and it was amazing. The crystal mud softens the skin and then she uses a foot scrub after you wash the crystal mud off. Then, she does the foot reflexology and uses a very nice scented lotion. The entire feel of the spa feels uplifting to me. I felt completely relaxed the second I walked in the door and almost 8 hours later I still feel blissfully happy. Spa Newbury just found them a new client. I can't wait to go back. **They also take walk-ins and I need to add that the prices are very very very reasonable. They offer a multitude of other services that I think anyone would love more

The front desk staff was very friendly, and I had no trouble making an appointment.I had Gina for both my services, which included a foot scrub and a shoulder/back mud wrap. She was very nice and very welcoming, and she got me a nice, cold water right away and even cut up an apple for me (the perfect thing on a hot August day).? more
