Editorial review from Citysearch 7/2/2012

I love this place. Every time I leave my kids there I feel like I'm leaving them with their grandma or a family member who will really really care for them. I have never had problems with my kids being left in soiled diapers. You have to see the environment to believe how great it really is! more

My Child Care Center 9/15/2010

When I looked for a child care center there were three main factors: The human factor, the health factor and the happiness factor. As I pulled into the parking lot of Southwest Childcare Center I felt all three factors flowing strongly immediately. The first thing I noticed and loved was the abundant outdoor play areas. Fresh air and space to grow and play were things that lacked at our previous center. The children at SWCC get outdoor time everyday year-round. Both inside and outside, each age group has its own designated, segregated area so you will rarely see big ones knocking over little ones. Moving indoors, the areas are set up for the specific needs of the children that play there. The facility is spacious, clean and fun. more

Southwest Child Care provides Quality Child Care 3/20/2008

Southwest Child Care is an Accreditted program that has recieved Quality New Mexico Recognitions as well as the Maxi Anderson Small Business of the Year Award. . .I have two children that have attended their Wyoming center for over 8 years. They have handled every issue I have had with my children with patience, empathy as well as an educated and aggresive response. My son was bit as a two year old and the staff was amazing. I think parents should research programs before they enroll - I did! I reviewed their state file as well as many other child care programs and I am thankful I chose Southwest Child Care. Pros: the longevity and education of the staff. How the staff treat the children and respond to their needs. Cons: more extra curricular activities for the school kids more

Poor hygiene 10/15/2007

Today was the first day I had my children at Southwest Childcare and I was extremely disapointed. My 11 month daughter was left with a dirty diaper for over 3 hours. My husband picked her up and said she was pooped from front to back. On her daily report it showed that they changed her only 4 times in a 10 hour day then they requested more diapers when I sent her with 15 for the day. She was only fed 4oz of formula the entire day, she drinks at least 30 oz in the amount of time she was there. My 6yr. old also went there today and when they served him breakfast he wasn't allowed to have milk with his food. This daycare center has him enrolled in the free food program but can't afford to give him something like a glass of milk. When I called about the diaper situation they couldn't tell me anything because the infant teachers had gone home and the manager didn't know what was going on. In the morning the infant teachers aren't there as early as I drop them off to give me an answer as to what happened. Let's see if the manager even bothers to follow up on the situation. Maybe they will have an answer when my husband drops in unannounced tomorrow. more

Consider carefully... 8/29/2007

My 2-yr old was dis-enrolled from SWCC because I made constant inquiries regarding their policies for biting. All I was told was that it was perfectly normal for this age and unavoidable. I was not buying that. My child was bit 7 times in a month. With the new school I enrolled her in though, she is also learning more, putting her sentences together better and doesn't beg to go home. She is cleaner, doesn't try to eat her food as fast as possible and isn't tired all the time. Overall, I would just suggest to prospective parents that they thoroughly research this center...accreditation or not - I believe they've let this and the 'stars' go to their heads. It's very difficult and frustrating to communicate with management that tells you that you know nothing... Thanks for ""listening"" and Please, above all else, take my advise!
