I agree that this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. They were sloppy and unprofessional. It took them over a month to finish a small project. It took them that long...

By far the most responsive contractor we interviewed. Workmanship was exceptional, followup by all staff was second to none. I had a couple of questions before the work started, and they persistently called me more than a half dozen times during the day when I was unable to answer the phone. It was even 8:00pm when they continued to call and we finally were able to speak (my fault, not theirs). Job was completed earlier than requested and price was comparable to all other quotes. We had a small problem when an installed post went through a sprinkler line, they immediately sent a crew out and got it fixed. Highly recommended, I only wish I had another fence to build! more

Great Work 9/30/2010

Our 325 ft wood fence project turned out great. The sales person form Southland was very knowledgable, courteous and timely. The installation crew was very efficient and finished the job in only two days. I've been recommending Southland to my neighbors, friends and family. more

Horrible 8/24/2010

I agree that this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. They were sloppy and unprofessional. It took them over a month to finish a small project. It took them that long because they used incompetent people that had no idea how to install an iron fence. They bolted the fence into a hardy plank board on the side of my garage without any reinforcement behind it and the movement of the gate ripped a hole in my garage the first week the fence was installed- my husband fixed it and reinforced the board because he did not trust them to do it correctly. After we complained about the quality of the workmanship, they did come out to fix it (which is the only good thing I can say about them, is that at least they came back)-- but, they had to completely redo parts of the fence because the crew leader was even more dissatisfied than we were (maybe he should have been out there instructing and inspecting the fence in the first place). Sub-standard work 7/6/2010

Terrible experience. Most incompetent, amateur crew I have had the misfortune to have build a fence. 48ft privacy fence took 3 days to complete! These guys seriously could not draw a straight line - cannot begin to describe how bad this experience was. Had to tear down sections 3-4 times during job to correct the most obvious mistakes. Hate to think what I would have got if I had not been home at the time! Don't blame the workers as much as management that hired/sent them out. Truly dismal experience and final product is simply pathetic. Have spent quite some time fixing the mess myself and now just a got a call from these guys saying they will try to redress what has been done - will update/post again to see if they come through but clearly this should not have happened in the first place and this review stands for now. Needless to say they lost the contract to install an automatic gate and another job big job one of my neighbor's wants done. more

Now These Guys Are Good! 1/20/2008

I wouldn't always recommend going with the more competitive quotes, but these guys were one of the two lowest when we were shopping around. We gave them the go ahead during a rainy time, but the day the rain let up, they had our fence up the same day - that was almost a year ago, and we still get compliments on our privacy fence. They put gates on both sides of our home and an extra board along the bottom, that other companies wanted to charge extra for...
