They do all the fishing and let you reel them in when they want you to. We were extorted for a 20% tip and when it was less they got rude. Over 30 yrs of charter experience and never got treated this bad. They even wanted to keep the fish after we were done. Do not book with them. Waste of money and time on vacation. more

Great Offshore Fishing with Spinning Gear 20 lb test! 1/15/2014

We did a half day in early January 2014, Captain Rob and his Crew Jack were very professional and fun, they enjoy their work. We caught plenty of fish including a couple of huge King Mackerel. The boat is 48' long and was spotless. The fishing style is spinning rods with 20lb test, they had boat/meat rods but we didn't use them. It was great morning. more

Best fishing trip 9/7/2013

Capt Rob and mate Jack were incredible. Both captain and mate have over 30 years experience and it shows. They took 3 women out on the best fishing trip ever! I had never caught a fish and the other 2 had very little experience, but by the end of the day we had more fish than any other charter boat at Whale Harbor. Thank you Southern Comfort for an absolutely memorable day!! more

Bad experience 4/13/2012

Very bad experience. Booked a 700 USD pm fishing trip... Crew spent 2 1/2 hours desparately trying to catch some bait fish... then half an hour fishing just two bonitos... couldn't catch any of the sailfish, Mahis etc we were promised. They didn't bother to stay a bit longer at sea to give us more chance to catch some decent fish, and they didn't even let us take the fish with us, nor did they apologize for the disappointing fishing experience - but for sure what the captain didn't fail was to remind us at the end that TIPPING WAS EXPECTED!!! more
