The Soundbridge Early Learning Center is a NAEYC Accredited preschool program for children ages 3 to 5. We are committed to promoting optimal development of each child's abilities, while also fostering confidence and joy in learning. We have small classes, an excellent teacher-child ratio, play centers for learning and working, activities that are child-directed and teacher-guided, indoor and outdoor play area, extended before / after school programs, a summer program, and an active PTO.
The teacher's role is to create an environment in which the children can make discoveries and solve problems through play using a rich variety of materials. Throughout all play and interactions, children's social awareness, knowledge, and skills are being addressed, with close links to their development of language and cognition.
As part of CREC Soundbridge, the Early Learning Center is an inclusive setting for preschoolers who have hearing loss. Each grouping of children is taught joint ly by an Early Childhood Instructor, a Teacher of the Hearing-Impaired, and teaching assistants.
*We believe that young children who learn to respect, understand, and accept individual differences and diversity are quite likely to grow into adults who do the same.*
