I can't believe Sonya Dakar is still in business. She burned my face once with a harsh peeling and in the middle of the treatment she asked me to walk with her to the front desk. more

I've been Sonya's client for three years now. I started seeing her in 2005 when I was desperate for a solution to my continual acne and scarring. She saw me for a few months and my skin looked better than it ever had. But the treatments were expensive and I decided to try things on my own. I stopped coming to the clinic for a year during which I saw a dermatolgist and went on accutane. Not only was the accutane hard on me emotionally and physically but it didn't work. I came back to Sonya this past year and she immediately assured me that she could help me change my skin, which was at the time completely dry, irritated, scarred and yet still breaking out. Pros: The best results I've ever seen. Cons: It costs more, but worth every penny. more

I just got my first Sonya Dakar facial! I am pleased to say that I had my first sonya dakar facial this week- and my skin looks amazing! I read about their special in us weekly and got a free $800 light treatment. The staff was so nice, and very helpful. Parking was great, and they even made me one of their new shakes for free. But best of all, I had a great treatment, and my skin looks so much better. Pros: best extractions and service more

I can finally say I love my skin! I have always battles breakouts and recently I notices a few lines around my eyes pop up. I was never a regular for facials but thought this was the time. I called for an appointment and the receptionist booked me for a facial for that week. I was psyched! I have been going for a few months now and my skin is looking so great. I have been a client of Sonya Dakar for almost a decade- She is the best! I usually do not write reviews, but I would not stand here and not put in my own two cents about Sonya. I have been a client of hers for almost a decade. since I was a starving artist, and could not afford her services. I had awful skin and not only did she help me, but she let me pay at my own rate. what other spa will let you break down a bill into 5 payments? She was there for me like a second mother, encouraging me to go for it. and now i have beautiful skin and a solid career to show for it. Sonya is very talented and very passionate. swear my thighs are smaller! I read about Sonya Dakar in MANY MANY magazines, and had to go check it out for myself. I did not get a facial, but i did get their endormologie cellulite treatment. I purchased a set of 10 (recommended my staff and all the research i have done). So far I have completed 5 treatments and my thighs are smaller. I thought I would have to s]live with cottage cheese and cellulite for the rest of my life. I am so excited to see what they will look like after i have done all 10 treatments. I first came in to the Sonya Dakar skin clinic to get get my skin picture perfect for my wedding. After my first appointment and consultation I was hooked. I completed the 6 treatments that were recommended to me. I did the facials, lights and diamond peels. It was an investment, but Sonya and her staff were kind enough to give me a break on the price and offer me an awesome payment plan. I have to tell you that my skin looked so great at my wedding. he lines around my eyes and mouth went away, and my skin was so soft and smooth, that i did not need too much foundation or concealer. ,my makeup artist could not believe it!! Lucy Nunez is by far the star of this place. She is professional, talented, friendly, attentive and an all out rock star when it comes to facials and skin care treatments. I have been to many salons and spas and enjoyed this experience tremendously and I will be a client for life. Not only is it the most beautiful place I have ever been to the overall ambience is fantastic. From the sweet and attentive nature of the lovely gals at the front desk to the relaxing facial experience that Lucy provides, I was in heaven. I did not have to wait for lengthly periods of time between the various phases of my facial... just enough to enjoy the experience and chill....which is important to me and honestly that is what the experience is and should be about. Truthfully, I wanted to stay longer. Lucy is very informative and a genuine person. She is a true professional and very intelligent. She knows her stuff and takes the time to answer questions not just sell a product or service. She explained each phase of the service and took the time to answer questions and explain what the benefits were/are of each the products she recommended to me. The place is gorgeous and very relaxing. I was treated like a queen from the moment I entered the place and enjoyed the specialized treatment that Lucy provides. The protein shakes are out of this world and a healthier alternative to other places that serve booze. I had the fitness facial, diamond peel and LED and my skin was glowing. The products are fantastic and are not expensive - not only do they work - they are organic, scientifically based, and are packaged in recycled containers - which is important to me as an ecofriendly consumer. The music is great, the parking is free and located in an easily accessible area of the City, thus making the experience more relaxing since I didn't have to worry about getting a ticket. I received many compliments on how great my skin looked and still looks after two weeks and it feels soft and smooth. So, for all of you who are looking for a great place to get an awesome facial I recommend you go see Lucy Nunez and the staff at Sonya Dakar and get ready for an awesome and relaxing experience. I am a 35-year-old woman who suffers from acne, scarring and discoloration due to hormonal changes in my body. I have visited dermatologists; other medical spas and popular facialists in conjunction with just about every skin care line out on the market! After many attempts to fix my skin, nothing worked. After just ONE visit at the Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic my skin changed completely. She not only did a great job educating me on my skin and diet, but also recommended a home care regimen for each one of my skin issues. I LOVE the products! Each product helps to heal my skin, and keep it clear. She also recommended an LED light treatment, which is 100% safe and penetrates down to the core of the problem killing acne bacteria and the other stimulates collagen production for firmer skin. I did all my research at home (unlike all the ignorant people making negative comments about her treatments) and was surprised with the results. The staff was also helpful and polite offering me tea, water, and even offered to buy me lunch(thank you Erin). When I turned 29 this year my skin was a disaster. I had the worst acne of my entire life (including my teenage years) brown sunspots on my forehead and upper cheeks and worst of all deep wrinkles on the side of my mouth and forehead. After years of sun and harsh products my skin seemed beyond help. I went to my favorite Beauty store and the woman helping me gave me Sonya's Omega-Oil in ""clear"" and it was the first thing I had used in a long time that didn't freak out my skin so I decided to call the clinic and seek Sonya's full professional help. Honestly, I am shocked at the reviews for Sonya Dakar. I have been a loyal client for 5 years, and having written a review about three months ago, I wanted to see what others have been saying. I just feel like I can't sit back and let people drag her reputation through the dirt. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and some people may not like the way she performs her business. Yes, I too have been stuck waiting for three hours, but that only happened twice in five years, and she apologized profusely. For those complaining about not getting 'cookies and tea' for their long wait, are not there for the right reasons. During one of my long waits, they threw in a free manicure. Yes, she is rough, but she gets the job done, and brilliantly. She is not for the faint at heart, she is aggressive, she can be pushy, and she is expensive. But boy is she worth it. And for those who call her cheap, they should know that when I couldn't afford things that she knew would help me, she did it for free. She is a businesswoman, self made. So, listen up all you spa people! This was the best facial I have ever had! I am a frequent spa goer, and love trying new places and was recommened to Sonya Dakar after not getting the results I was looking for in regards to my horrible acne that I have suffered from for years. Sonya gave the time and attention that I needed and then set me up on a regimen that I have been following now for a few months. WOW! What results!!! I've been going to Tanya at Sonya Dakar for a few years now, and I must say, she knows what she's doing. My eyebrows have never looked better.
