I gifted a vehicle to a person I know and they did not change the title into their name. The vehicle was towed and subsequently I was contacted as the owner of the car. After providing a copy of my receipt showing that I properly filed a Report of Sale with the DOL more than a year ago, I am still getting harassed by the collection agency that Sno-River Towing and Recovery turned it over to for non payment of the towing charges. I have proven that I was not the legal owner of the vehicle at the time of impound and provided them with the name, address and phone number of the person I gifted it to. Sno-River Towing has not to this day contacted that person to my knowledge. Yet they continue to harass me through the collection agency and seem to be content to try to destroy my credit. Perhaps they should follow through properly themselves rather than continue to be lazy and not contact the collection agency to get the facts straight.
