My wife & I went there on 12/08/07 with a group of friends and the food was excellent, the portions were great and the atmosphere was great. our service was not what we expected, I think our waiter could have used some help with refilling drinks, bread, etc. He was nice & polite and we will definetley go back. I've lived in Norfolk for almost 2 years and have failed to find another place which even compares to Sterling's. Not only are the steaks amazing but the waitstaff is the best I've ever witnessed. I do miss the porterhouse which was the greatest meal ever created but the ribeye is a nice substitute. Every single side there is made to perfection. My favorite, the ranch mashed potatoes-ask for a little goat cheese in them, it's great. And top off your meal with the finest desserts east of the mississippi. The manager Brian is the epitomy of professionalism and precision, the bartender Corey really knows how to handle his bottles. Wednesday night half price wine and half price apps for happy hour every night makes it quite a good deal-it's in the entertainment book too!!!\r \r All in all this resturant is my favorite place to eat. Our wine tasting club has been to Sterling's before, but this most recent experience was the best. The food is always fantastic and especially amazing when prepared for such a large group. What a great little place to discover right in the heart of Granby Street. The menu was enormous with steaks, seafoods and pastas. Their filet was one of the most tender I've ever had. The waitstaff was definitely professional and polished. The atmosphere was busy but still very conversational. I would recomend this place to any of my friends. Wonderful atmosphere! Great service. The waiter was very knowledgable and professional. The meals were out of this world. I have been there on numerous occasions for both dinner (recomend the porterhouse) and the sunday brunch. Have had wonderful experiences throughout! Highly recommend for a nice romantic meal or even casual dining out. more
