Can you rate someone a NO STAR? These crooks tried to drain my bank account. I have a truck that needed just a front end alignment, so I dropped it off to them because I had to work. They call me about 10:00 a.m. and I was expecting to hear...your truck is finished. NOPE!! They say you are gonna need two or three front end components replaced...my reply ok so what does that mean in terms of price. They reply with $1700.00. $1700.00????? Really. So, I told them I will pass on the $1700 repair and thank them for their time. They say no need to thank us..we still get paid. WHAT??? I ask them what did they do...they said they put it on the rack. Last time I check it takes 5 minutes to put a car on a rack. Mechanics usually charge $60-$70 an hour. SO they charged me $30 for 5 minutes. CROOKS. I pay the $30, pick up my truck, and look at it myself. Only one of the components that quoted needed replaced from what a ""reputable"" mechanic told me. However, I replaced not only the one part that needed replaced, but the whole front end for less than $200. (No labor, I did it myself in under 2 hours). SO lets review... $200 parts, labor 2 hours >$70/hr x 2= $140, total= $340. Where the heck did they get $1700. Maybe one other review made sense.....they needed the money to support all those cigarettes they smoked in my truck. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS CAR WISE. DO THE COMMUNITY A FAVOR AND SHUT SHOP!! more

Bad, Bad, Bad... 3/10/2012

I took my vehicle to them because I had just bought it, and it was new to me. It was an older vehicle, so I knew it probably had some issues, but I never expected to get a quote like theirs. Not only did they try to sell me absolutely unneccessary services, they quoted me $900 on brakes. \r \r I sensed something was awry because the brakes simply didn't seem THAT bad to me. Sure enough, after having a couple of other mechanics take a look, it only cost $300 to fix the brakes. \r \r In addition, they smoked either in my vehicle, or around it so much that the interior REEKED of cigarette smoke when I picked it up. Yuck. more

I had been a loyal customer with CarWise Automotive Service (formerly NAPA Automotive Service) for 6 years, until my last visit! I had a rear axle leaking oil. The mechanic recommended replacing both axles so that new seals would stop the leak. The shop manager said replacing the rear seals would stop the leak; their vendor had a backorder on axles. The following day, both axles were leaking oil profusely! The shop manager called a salvage yard for a rear axle assembly, after I paid $200.00, plus, for work that was simply a waste of money! He told me that he had verified with the salvage yard that the rear axle assembly was in good shape. This was on a Friday morning. The shop manager said he would call me later that day after the assembly was to be delivered. He never called me back. The following Monday I still did not receive a call back from the shop manager! The following day (Tuesday) the owner called me to say that they received the axle assembly, but that the entire assembly had rust inside. What the shop manager verified was in good condition was, in fact, junk! To make things worse they expected me to pay for axle asssembly! Fortunately, the vehicle was not needed over the weekend! Had this been different, it would have been an emergency! Now I understand why NAPA Automotive Service is now known as ""CarWise Automotive Service!"" There were ""problems"" before with this business that the staff thought would resolve by simply changing their name. I believe in giving any person or business the ""benefit of a doubt."" In this case, I would have to say that I would not recommend anyone taking their car or truck to CarWise Automotive Service. In my case, they ""proved"" to be unreliable. When a business has few or no customers there is a reason why this is so! more

Went for refill on low fluid following an oil change at NAPA. I had only met 1500 miles. Manager charged $46 diagnostic fee to add inexpensive fluid. He told me what he was doing.....yet ALL I needed was fluid....not a diagnosis. Technician said the fluid was most likely not even added on my first trip to NAPA. So disappointing.\r \r -------\r This store is also inconsistent with coupons. more
