Won't Return Now That Dr. Morrill No Longer Works Here 10/4/2012

The vet, Dr. Morrill, is amazing! I called to see her again but she is no longer working at this clinic. I will track her down & use the clinic she works in now, I won't be returning to Smoky Hill. The vet bills for my two dogs steady rose over time. I refuse to go to another corporate owned clinic ever again!! Pet Partners LLC *BOO* Dr. Morrill was the best thing going for your clinic... she is honest, caring and really takes the time to take care of both your animals and you as a pet parent. more

Caring Staff 3/24/2011

We were new to the area, and our old vet retired. Our 16 1/2 year old dog Abby was pretty ill and we did make the dreaded decision to go ahead and euthanasie her since her quality of life was not good. I had been driving by the Smokey Hill Vet clinic everyday and something told me that was the right place to go. I called and spoke with Ashley, she was very kind and patient with me explaining the procedure. We arrived the next day and were greeted with amazing staff. We felt they really did understand what a hard decision it was for us to make about our dog Abby. They offered a nice quiet room for us, no pressure toget this done quickly ~ as a matter of fact, they told us to take as much time as we needed. We did, and then doctor Jorgensen came in and made it so nice for us and our dog. She even hugged us, sharing in our grief. When we left, we were sad, yet felt it was right. I know that the caring staff made our experience and our dog Abby's so much better, and for this we thank yo more

Caring staff 1/14/2011

I feel very comfortable taking my cat to Smoky Hill Vet. I grew up on a farm and have always had barn cats. I still have an outdoor cat who occasionally roams and fights. The vets at Smoky HIll never lecture me about letting him out. They help me take care of his abscesses and even call to check on him the day after treatment. They are very caring and professional. more

Excellent Care 1/14/2011

I brought my Miniature Schnauzer in for inappropriate urination. The veterinarian quickly diagnosed his diabetes and made sure I understood that diabetes would require more frequent medical visits and diligent care at home. I was determined to help my dog. Together the doctor and I have worked to provide a happy healthy life for him. more

Not what it used to be.. 1/12/2011

I have been a client of Smoky Hill Vet clinic for over 13 years. I have had 2 cats and 5 dogs taken care of over the years. The problem isn't the care they receive, the problem is since Dr. Mueller sold the "small animal" section of the clinic the prices have gone way out of control. I believe it is now owned by Pet Partners of Aurora, whoever they are. \r As the prices continue to soar, I have been forced to find a new vet clinic. As much as I like the staff...well, most of them, I can no longer afford to keep this company in business. I have a dog that needs labs every 6 months before he can have his meds refilled and in a 6 month time span the total cost went from $138 to well over $200. The new vet uses the same lab and yet it only costs $90.\r I moved to Summer Valley Vet, next to Safeway on Buckley and Quincy and I have to say I am very impressed. Dr Fetter was really great with the dog I took to him.\r Sorry Dr. Mueller, but since Kelly Best left and you sold the clinic it's been d more

Never again 12/24/2010

I have been taking my animals to Smokey Hill Vets on an as needed basis since 2001. Initially I found both their professionalism and prices to be very good and I even recommended them to my friends. This year, however, I have been profoundly disappointed with their service. They are demanding an unnecessary examination to be done on my cat before they?ll allow me to buy a simple back of Science Diet cat food. The only reason my cat started on the food 9 years ago was to prevent a recurring health problem, and it worked. He?s healthy as long as he gets the right food. There?s nothing to examine. Yet in a transparent effort to drum up business on unnecessary services they refuse to sell me the food. I?m furious with their foolish need to sell unneeded service and I will NEVER use them again. Other vets will sell me the food without a fight?why can?t they?! more

Friendly, Caring Staff; Best Possible Care 3/8/2010

I have been taking my animals to Smoky Hill Vet Clinic for 3 years now and I have to say I've been very pleased with doctors as well as the entire staff. Everybody is very friendly and they really do care for the patients as if they were their own animals. \r The doctors are very knowledgable and they do their best to give me all possible options so that I can make the best decision for my pets. I was also very impressed by their follow up procedures. Every time my animals have gone in for and illness or injury, the doctor has called me back the following day to make sure they are improving. more

Smoky Hill Vet has A+ Service 1/16/2010

We have used them for about 9 years for 2 cats. The people care about what they are doing and it shows. Friendly, thorough, good hours, and reasonably priced. more

Don't waste your time 11/13/2009

Until recently, I have been a loyal client to this vet clinic for all 4 of my dogs. Every time I went there, I totally felt taken advantage of due to the costs. But, I liked the care my dogs got so I kept going. Within the last 6 months, I have had to take my dogs there multiple times and spent close to 3000 if not more. My last trip that ended my relationship with them, I had to take my dog in for a bandage change and they charged me $60. When I called them about it, I would have liked them to take off a $20 charge for the assistant to stand there and hand the doctor bandages to make it $40 (a much more reasonable price). But they wouldn't. The people there do not see their clients as anything but money. I am now on the hunt for a new vet that thinks past the money for long term loyal clients. With all the money they made off of me you would think they would have worked with me on this bill. I always paid my bills without complaining and this 1 time Since they quoted me $40 to begin w more

would not recommend to anyone 11/9/2009

I don't know about the other vets there but I had a very bad experience with the male Dr. there. I was unhappy with a procedure that was done on my cat, when I confronted him about it he became very combative and condescending, when it was all said and done and I had paid my bill he told me never to come back and to not bother reporting him to the Board of Veterinary because it wouldn't do any good..I was shocked to say the least. .Fortunately in 25 years of caring for pets and their vet visits all experiences with veterinarians have been good except for this one.. Pros: hours Cons: unprofessional more

You get what you pay for! 3/28/2009

My terrier, MO has been a patient at that facility for over year now. Although pricing may be difficult for many, as a pet owner, I feel that you get what you pay for. There should be no grumbles about pricing for loved pets that are getting the best care, consideration, and preventive exams. Economic times have affected everyone, but if your pet is truly a part of the family I say this; pets should be cared for as children. Children are expensive. I choose Children's Hospital for my kiddo's asthma knowing they would be more expensive... do our loved pets not get the same courtesy when they are ill? Regards,Autumn D.Y.G more

Disregarded 11/21/2008

I noticed you responded to "Care is Faltering". But not to the other ones that did not have a good experience. Why is that? I believe the customers, ecsecially since you have nothing to say about there experience. I would like to hear what you have to say about the ones you decided not to respond to. It really makes your clinic look bad if you pick and choose who you respond to. I will be shopping around. more

office visits for my cat and dog 10/11/2008

I have visited this clinic several times. And while I love the people there and also the doctors, I feel like IM taken advantage of every time i go in there. Their prices are way out of line with a few other Aurora clinics that Ive check with and they always try to upsell me on more services. They voluntarily gave me a full printed estimate including tooth extraction, for my dog. $420. I was appalled. I will not be going there again. There is a great vet within a mile of there that is about 30% less and they too are very nice knowlegdeable folks. more

LOVE THE STAFF 9/9/2008

They are always extremely helpful over the phone, responsive and easy to work with. Two of my pets were put 'to sleep' there and they are just the most caring and considerate professional staff. I can order prescription food for my pets thru their office, and find this very convenient. more

I Like This Clinic 9/4/2008

They do a great job helping take care of my elderly Chihuahua. She has a history of knee and dental problems and I appreciate their good work and good advice. Last year she had major dental work done and all their staff was so caring and supportive. I think their fees are very reasonable too. more

Will not take my animals here 8/27/2008

My mom took our cat here when he was 4 or 5 years old to get him declawed. I thought I would go back to them to get my two cats declawed. I called and spoke to a lady who told me I would need an exam first, which I know is common at all vets when it's the first time seeing the animal. When I asked for an estimate for my 3 and 1 year old cats she said they might not be able to do it because of their ages... So I again asked for an estimate of the cost of getting my cat declawed and she put me on hold to go ask the Dr. She came back and informed me that I would need to go in for an exam before they would even give me an estimate. Why would I want to waste my money where I don't know how much they are going to charge me? Bad customer service, I will be shopping around. more

Smoke and Mirrors 2/21/2008

I Bought the puppy care package thinking it would save me money. I took my puppy in to be seen on one of the routine puppy check ups which is covered under the package. I told the doctor my puppy had some diarrhea and she said she was going to take a fecal sample(covered under the package). The test the doctor ran was not covered with package, I was not told this prior. When me and my puppy were checking out they said the bill was $90.00. Luckily, i said send me the bill, although they made it seem like it was such an inconvenience to send me the bill. When i received it i called to dispute. The person on the other line immediately took off nearly half. Stating they had double charged me for the office visit.(office visit included in package). I paid the balance. It feels as if you tried to get me coming and going. How many people don't speak up and end up paying more than they should? I will not return to your clinic. more

Sarah 2/1/2008

I have been taking my dogs to Smoky Hill for over 1 year. the doctors there are caring and knowlegable. When my dog got pancreatitis they treated her right away and she made a full recovery with in a week. I would urge anyone looking for a vet to consider Smoky Hill. more

Regarding care is faltering 11/23/2007

I am a doctor at Smoky Hill Veterinary Clinic.\r I would enecourage any client who has a preference as to which doctor they see with their pets to let the technicians know when making your appointment. They will be happy to make sure you see the doctor of your choice.\r We have had some staff turnover in the last few years, but unfortunately that's a part of veterinary medicine. If you went into any vet clinic in the city and asked if they had any doctors there who had worked there 10 years or more, and were not an owner or partner, you'd find very few. \r The way this business generally works is that you start out of school working for a clinic owner. You work for them for generally 3-5 years until you feel comfortable, then you strike out on your own. Start your own business, or partner with someone. \r So unfortunately we often lose the doctors we've had the longest and value the most.\r We'd be happy to discuss any of our former staff if you would only ask.\r As for getting more exp more
