Okay, I don't like barbecue. In fact, I don't like red meat. But amazingly enough, Smokey Bones is one of my favorite places to eat. My fiance and I go there at least once a month and are never disappointed.
While sometimes on busy nights there is a bit of a wait to be seated, it's usually 10 minutes or less. The hostesses are always friendly and helpful. Our waiters come over immediately to take our order - we never have to wait any additional time. If there is a problem, it is always taken care of to our satisfaction. For instance, on our last visit there was some sort of issue in the kitchen that caused our meal to take longer to be prepared. The manager came out, apologized, and offered us a free dessert! Now that's service!
The food itself is fabulous. I always get their appetizer platter as my meal - chicken strips, potato slabs and onion rings. I have never had better onion rings than those at Smokey Bones. Beer-battered, they are crispy (not slimy), well-done, and have a great flavor. But our absolute favorite is dessert - those lovely little donuts! It doesn't get much better than that.
If I had to nitpick, the only things that bother me about the establishment are:
- The TVs. While we are well-versed in controlling the televisions from our booth, sometimes the channels don't match up with what actually on the screens viewable from where we are sitting.
- Noise. It can get a little bit noisy in there, especially when a neighbor insists on turning his television volume way up.
But neither of those things will stop us from going back again and again. :)
