I have been disappointed more than once by Sir Walter. I bought my 2008 Chevy Cobalt at the same time my family purchased a 2008 Chevy Impala. We both got our cars serviced there.
When getting oil changes I would always make an apt, yet it would still take 2 hrs. However, when my boyfriend went (even with my car) his only took 45 min without an apt.
I got into a minor collision and had my car towed to Sir Walter through GMAC, which for a free tow, requires you bring it to a dealer. They were unable to even look at it for me on Saturday because they had a half day, so by Monday I had already been out of a car for two days. When they looked it at and gave me an estimate, it was high so I decided to go through insurance. My company wasn't able to send someone out to assess the damage for four days so I decided to try and expedite things and get it towed to a place that could handle the claim without having to wait for an insurance assessment. I basically found a shop that could do their own State Farm assessments. When I called Sir Walter back and told them I was having it towed elsewhere, they told me about this large bill I'd have for all this labor.
Yes, they gave me an estimate, which I know is within their right to charge me for, but I still felt was pretty poor customer service because I've been dealing with them for so long. They also made a comment that it would be a lot of labor because they had to put the tires back on. If they were just doing an estimate, why had they started to take the car apart? I understand that it's within their right to charge me, but was disappointed with repeatedly poor customer service.
