I have always enjoyed Silo in Alamo Heights so thought I'd try the 1604 location because it's near my house. Cons: Food and service

The very best in San Antonio! 9/28/2011

The food was great, the waiter was awesome, the band was very talented, the people were dancing, the ambiance was absolutely delightful, it was clean, pleasant and they even gave us a free dessert when I mentioned it was my wife's birthday... Needless to say - we had a great time and we'll definitely come back. more

A Stone Oak Jewel !! 8/7/2008

The Stone Oak Silo is fancy and great ! My husband and I begin each meal w/ the famous crab spring rolls and the black angus lettuce wraps. Yumee - the dipping sauces are tart, tasty, and unforgettable. Wish I know how to make them. Pros: valet parking, cool bar, classy, group/mtg rooms Cons: n/a more

GREAT Food and Outstanding service. 8/4/2008

My husband took me to Silo for our Anniversary. We had a great time, the food was over the top and the service was excellent!! Everything exceeded my expectations. We had a crabcake appetizer, the crab meat was huge...I also had their Lobster Tail special, and their warm chocolate cake for dessert, everything was perfect. The food plus the great wine our server suggested, made a perfect night for our 15th Anniversary!!! more

Nice bar, very loud, the smoking is bothersome 7/27/2008

The downstairs bar is a lot of fun, many drink choices and interesting new wave surrounding of local art and red couches. more

Super service and desserts to die for! 5/10/2008

We have visited Silo off 1604 and the location off Austin Highway... both were fabulous! The servers were well versed on the menu, wines, and were funny and curteous to boot. That was just the service... the food was even better. We had a number of things on the menu, and all of them were tasty. You have to try the crab cake, every salad we've tried (4 and counting) was phenomenal, as was the pork with mac and cheese, and the rib eye. But you must MUST try the souffle!!! I don't write raving reviews, unless they're deserved. Enjoy! Pros: Food, Ambiance, and Service Cons: I can't think of any more

Great Experience!!! 12/26/2007

We recently dined at Silo 1604. The spring rolls and crab cakes were to die for! We were pampered like royalty and impressed by the beauty and elegance of the atmosphere. Service impeccable, food equisite and atosphere divine. It is a great experience everyone should indulge in. Pros: service, wine selection and knowledge Cons: bar not easy to navigate more

Saddest Joke of a Restauarant in Texas - Dining Here Is Anything But Plesant! 11/27/2007

Actually, the place doesn't deserve even one star. The only memorable part of the meal was the wine, and they had nothing to do with that - thank goodness. The waiter was inexperienced and spoke poor english - that may have been a part of the problem. The food that was initially delivered to the table had nothing to do with what had been ordered. When the correct orders finally arrived they were literally cool and/or cold. A request to have the food re-heated brought a head waiter to inquire as to the problem - food got colder. Upon discovering the problem, waiters were changed - colder and colder. The new waiter apparently forgot that we existed so we asked for our bill to pay for the wine when the manager appeared. You might think he was there to apologise - nope, wanted us to pay for food that wasn't even on the table. Nice . . . real nice. Anyone who patronizes this joke of a restaurant does so at their own risk. Pros: Nice Looking Cons: Everything other than appearance is absolutely Horrid more

Exemplary Food & Service! 10/15/2007

Exemplary Food & Service! What great attention to detail by the chef and his staff. My prime ribeye steak was of the quality found in a high end chophouse without the ala carte sides and prices. My wife had their fish special of Hawaiian snapper with a crab meat topping, so good she would not share. Guess I will just have to return. Pros: Great professional staff!! Cons: Very busy more

Wonderful service and food. 7/8/2007

I recently went to Silo in Stone Oak and had a fabulous meal. Excellent service on our trip. Waiter was prompt and serviceable. The wine list was fantastic. Overall a great experience. We will definitely be back. Pros: Excellent cusine, wine and we found the service very good. Cons: Nothing that we found more

What a disappointment! 7/8/2007

Having enjoyed the Austin Hwy venue, I decided to take my father and the family to brunch at the new 1604 Silo location -- BIG mistake. Food was just as terrific as the Austin Hwy location, when we could get a hold of the waiter to get any! Literally, it was 30 minutes from getting the menu to ordering. We were never once asked to have drinks refilled -- had to get up, find the waiter, and ask for bread. I emailed the owner, who apologized, and offered to send me a coupon to retry. That was nice, but never heard from him again, despite re-emailing and calling. Basta! Enough of Silo -- don't recommend spending the $$ there. That was a $250 brunch for 5! more
