I bought my snowboard bindings at Signal last May and the gentleman who helped me was extremely helpful and explained the differences between all the brands and types of bindings....

good service, ok prices 9/9/2010

Walking in to store i was greeted immediately and asked what i was looking for. i am a park rider so what i really want is a reverse camber park board. they suggested the 09 park rocker board size 154. very maneuverable and presses easily. 350 was their asking price so i told them i'd keep shopping. online i found the board for 200 brand new. i bought two! if anyone wants to buy this board from me for 200 and save 150 then let me know and we'll go from there. its still in the original packaging so if this is your style and size let me know more

Knowledgable, helpful staff and great selection of women's gear 1/5/2009

I bought my snowboard bindings at Signal last May and the gentleman who helped me was extremely helpful and explained the differences between all the brands and types of bindings. Just yesterday I went in to look for a new board and the young woman who helped me was very knowledgeable and didn't pressure me to make a decision right away. I left the store without buying a board (but having purchased a jacket and some other items), and called back later in the day after doing some board research online to ask her opinion. She was very nice and said to call back anytime. I love this store! Pros: Smart, helpful staff that actually use the products they're selling. Great sales. Cons: Items are only affordable (for me) when they're on sale. more

Signal Sports for Women 4/17/2008

I am a very new beginner to skiing. With lack of knowledge on equipment, I needed some advice. I went to a few other stores around the Portland area and only one was fantastic! Al helped me out so much with all my equipment and suggestions. The deals on the stuff I ended up purchasing were amazing. On line I could not find any cheaper equipment, anywhere. So super friendly for any of your skiing needs. Absolutely no buyers remorse when I left his shop, only looking forward to going back for any and all of my skiing needs in the future! Pros: Honesty, value, incredible customer service. Cons: 0 more

Best sports store in Portland! 1/24/2008

Al was super helpful, and all the girls that work their really know their stuff. They all helped me find the best fit and styles.\r After I went to at least three other shops, I found the best selection and service. \r Finally a store for us ladies...\r Pros: Selection, styles, service, locally owned Cons: NONE.... more

Great find! 3/23/2007

I went looking for tennis gear, which they no longer carry, but ended up with some fantastic new running shoes that were recommended by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I actually ended up with a great racket and tennis shoes that the owner had left over. Although I'm sure he wanted to clear out left-over stock, he was not pushy and I felt that he was really trying to meet my needs and find a product that I would truely enjoy rather than just push old stuff on me. He actually initially recommended me to several other shops first, and only dug out these remnants after I had been hanging around for awhile! I also found some really cute clothing, shoes, and accessories. Their ski gear also strikes a perfect balance between form and function-all at very reasonable prices. No snow-bunnies here, but stylish and sporty gear with function for real athletes in mind. Also very refreshing to find both knowedgeable and friendly staff that actually use the stuff, care about meeting their customer's needs, and have no attitude! All at a good price. more

check this store out! 1/15/2006

so happy that a hip and stylish boutique like Signal finally came to Portland. Sure there are many places to get women's sportswear in this city, but Signal truely has unique designers, gifts and gear tailored to one that appreciates fashion and function. everyone must check this store out! Pros: friendly staff, easy to shop, great merchandise Cons: too many good things , only 1 location more

attention grrrl skiers & boarders! 1/13/2006

Signal Sports has the most amazing selection women-specific skis and apparel I have ever seen. Outdoing even REI, Signal Sports had all 3 of the brand new (as this year). top rated women-specific powder skis. And, never mind the overlap between REI & Signal Sports because for the skis they both carried, Signal started discounting theirs in early January and had them -- even the ""hot"" ones in short supply -- for 20% less. Nils, Obermeyer, Marker -- their selection of high fashion ski and snowboard wear is unmatched by even the fancy ski shops in Aspen. And if that wasn't enough, the salespeople and owners actually know the products, especially the equipment. Pros: selection, uniqueness, women-specific Cons: downtown hours, staff overload more
