great ski resort without the crowds 2/12/2006

Though it's not as large as other ski resorts, it also lacks the crowds which is a big plus. I really enjoy skiing here because the runs are fun and you can often find that there are only a handful of people on the mountain with you. The lift lines are not long and the staff is nice. The runs are great for beginners as well as more advanced skiers. more

awesome skiing 11/21/2005

Sierra is a big step up from Boreal (where i used to go on the student fridays to learn). The lift ticket prices are around $35 and the slopes are great. Lots of steep runs that will challenge you. I went on a weekday and there were hardly anyone around. It's not as spacious as Heavenly or Mammoth but still well worth the $$$. more

Disappointing 12/27/2002

The snow is typically nice, and the runs are good for beginning skiiers/boarders. The lines, however, are poorly managed. It's a free-for-all with everyone pushing and shoving to be the first in line. The line directors do not follow any system and create an unpleasant atmosphere for waiting skiiers/boarders, they hold up the line, and ""authorized personnel"" lines are not clearly marked. Pros: close to south tahoe, good for beginners Cons: line management, difficulty of runs more
