Best

Dr. Archer and all of the staff at Shirley Veterinary Hospital are the best that you are going to get for your animals. I have been to other vets in the area, and none come close...

Ugh

What a shithole!!!!! Never take your animal here! Way to expensive and it is not clean at all! Was not very pleased with the service, what a waste of time.

Dr. Archer is Brilliant and Compassionate 4/17/2011

I feel that accurately diagnosing problems and keeping my dogs healthy is just as important to him as it is to me, and its a rare and special gift for a veterinarian to have this level of dedication and commitment. When I recently thought about moving, I started making a mental list of what I would be giving up. Dr. Archer is at the top of this list. He always takes the time to explain and educate me about my dog's medical issues. I feel that his intelligence, compassion and commitment has definitely helped me save the lives of several dogs over the years that may not have made it if I had taken them to a different veterinarian. more

World Class Vets! 11/9/2010

I have been bringing my two pets to Dr. Archer for the past 4 years and would never go elsewhere. He is a very good veterinarian and is fantastic at diagnosing and treating illnesses/diseases. My dog was very sick recently, and Dr. Archer knew exactly what was wrong with him when no one else did. Dr. Yates, the newer doctor, is very kind and caring also. When Dr. Archer was not in, she was able to give me updates on my pets condition. The technicians, assistants, and receptionists are phenominal as well. They answered all my questions readily and responded promptly to all my needs regarding my pet family members. more

LOLA bruised elbow :( 7/12/2010

My husband and I brought our 130 pound dog, Lola to Dr. Archer last week. We were afraid she might have eaten something from the garbage. (Garbage is gaurded by a baby gate, but our moose, LOLA decided to climb into it ) She ended up hurting her elbow. We were so concerned she broke her it. Doctor Archer was wonderful with Lola as well as the entire staff. He did blood work to check for Lymes and Heart worms. Her tests came out negative, but he didn't give up on finding out what was wrong. Dr. Archer thinks she just bruised her elbow. :(Her prescribed a pain medicine for her and if she didn't get better our next step would be an x ray. He took a ton of time explaining our options and I really aprreciated that. \r Lola loves him too! I don't think I can ever go anywhere else after seeing how gentle Dr.Archer was with Lola. The price on each test was reasonable too! more

Dr. Archer & his staff are the best around! 6/17/2010

Dr. Archer is a world class vet in every way. I'm rescue small dogs, and I have brought hundreds of dogs to his office, both in Shirley and when he started in Riverhead. Its so difficult for a vet to diagnose and treat a dog with no medical history who has been a stray or dumped at a shelter. Dr. Archer has always been right on with his diagnosis and in face saved the life of one of my dogs last week because he was quick to figure out her complicated symptoms. The staff is also extremely caring and professional. more
