Great food, great staff and excellent management 2/13/2009

I tarvelled from UK on a holiday and took my children to this restaurant and though really its a romantic location for couples, the staff were so helpful and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed ourselves, we had a great time. My children aged 7 are normally very fussy eaters but they loved the food they chose and the sweet at the end was fantastic. it was a pleasure to be there as I have eaten all over the middle east and the food in Shiraz was like been back there. thank you Rashin keep up the great work. Pros: great food, great staff, great atmoshpere Cons: it closes more

Fabulous food, supurb service 4/18/2007

I discovered Shiraz a little over a year ago. What a gem! The atmosphere is serene and elegant. The staff is friendly, pleasant and professional. The owner (and chef) is customer oriented and is willing to customize every order. The food is among the best I've had in the world. My job involves constant traveling and I have dined at many top restaurants in Paris, New York, Milan... Shiraz is right up there. Fresh ingredients, culinary creativity and attention to detail result in memorable meals. I go to Shiraz at least once a week when I am in town and every friend that I have taken with me has fallen in love with this place. My all time favorite is Fesenjaon; chicken cooked in walnuts and pomegranate puree. A friend of mine ordered it based on my suggestion but didn't care for it as much because he doesn't like sweet flavors. He was eating it slowly and our server noticed that he wasn't enjoying his meal. She asked him how his entree was and he said fine. Our server notified the chef of her hunch and the chef came out to talk to my friend and insisted that he try something else. The chef said that it was ""important to enjoy every bite of your meal with all your senses. I don't want you to just eat here, I want you to excite your taste buds""- I love the attitude that Shiraz has towards dinnig and it's customers. If you haven't eaten here, you haven't excited your tastebuds! Pros: wholesome food Cons: None! more

Bad Customer Service 3/22/2007

I was deeply disappointed in the customer service and managent of Shiraz restaurant in San Antonio. I got double charged for an evening of dinner. After multiple call to Shiraz, and many unanswered called, I was told that this would be take care of immediately. A month later, they still have not refunded my $$, and now claim they did not charge me twice, and will not refund my money. The management was rude, and aloof. My bank is handling the dispute., but I will not go back, and advise others to be careful with credit card charges at this establishment. Cons: Double Charge Credit Cards more

Excellent Spot For Romantic Dining 7/18/2006

Shiraz Fine Persian Cuisine is the perfect romantic restaurant in town. Enjoy an excellent meal in a romantic environment. Not only is it a great spot for romance but it is followed up with good friendly service and excellent Persian dishes. The staff at Shiraz will treat you like royalty. If you and your date are ready to try something new and elegant then Shiraz is the perfect place. Pros: Great service, great food, great price Cons: Honestly none. more

After 5 dinner visits... 1/22/2004

The menu reads like an action adventure tale for the pallette; with exotic fruits and spices brought to light against such solid mainstays as lean steak, salmon and lamb. Much of the menu is traditional Iranian/Persian fare, with slight adjustments for American Tastes. For beginners, it's easy to recommend both the Orange Glazed Salmon, Rack of Lamb with Blackberry Sauce with impunity. Appetizers are all about experiencing taste: goat cheeses, dolmas, imported feta, hummus. Make sure to order a rich red wine to go with. Each of the salads stands alone and full of flavor, and save room for desert. Rose-water Icecream, baklava, dueling cheesecakes and rice pudding are exquisite. Then there's the Chai, the Turkish coffee.... and the imported bricks of rough cut sugar. Two of us regularly split appetizers, a bottle of wine, order salads, split an entree, then do coffees and a desert for about $80. Pros: What Flavors!!!!, Caring Service!!!, Solid Wine List. more

Amazing! 1/22/2004

The perfect place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, new job, or just surviving a rough week. The food is delicious, and each time I think I know what to expect they surprise me. The grilled meats and vegetables are great for people trying to watch their diet, and the desserts are decadent and perfect for those who want to splurge. Make SURE you end your meal with a cup of hot chai or turkish coffee - delivered to your table with chunks of sugar, imported from Iran. Also a great place for lunch if you're looking to spend less. Pros: Attentive Staff, Diverse Menu, Quiet Atmosphere more

You are greatled warmly, with instant seating. The waiters are prompt and courteous. Every meal comes with the house appetizer; herb, bread, and cheese.
