Sharlands Terrace Apartments

I lived here from 2004 to 2007 and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff was always helpful when we had problems. One day our fridge quit while we were at work and all our food was pretty much wasted. We called the manager and with in 15 minutes a maintenance staff member was at our door with a huge side by side fridge. The staff was always understanding and very fair. When we complained about our neighbor one time for yelling death threats to people from his balcony they actually handled the issue. When I left the complex I had damaged some carpets with some dye, but they were understanding and didn't make me pay up front but instead told me to send money when ever we could to pay off the remainder we owed. The staff is completely retarded. From when I first filled out the application to now when I live here. First thing was that the gal who helped me when I first filled out the application quoted me the wrong price (a whole lot more than I wanted to pay). After I moved in there was a terrible problem with bugs and they assured me they would have someone spray. Supposedly someone came and sprayed but I had an EVEN worse problem with bugs after that, and a mouse!, that they told me were my own responsibility. They didn't take care of the bug problem until I complained after waking up one morning to over 50 carpet beetles in my bathroom and a couple sightings of roaches (which they assured me was impossible). They made it seem like they were doing me the biggest favor by spraying my apartment (after 4 months of complaining) and offered to clean my carpets afterwords (which they never did). I was recently locked out of my apartment because my son left his coat at school with the key inside and they refused to help me back in my apartment. At least one of the women in the office lives in the complex and there is an on-site maintenance man and they told me I'd have to either call back in the morning or call a locksmith. Additionally, when I moved in I told them about a problem with some gaps in one of the windows and they told me they were normal for air flow (they didn't even look at it). And I told them they were not normal but they wouldn't check them out. Last week it snowed and there was an obvious draft from the window and there was frost all around the frame... they told me they'd have someone look at it the next day and then ""misplaced"" the work order and didn't come to look at it until I complained a week later. This is by far the worst apartment experience I've ever had and I recommend that everyone RUN AWAY from this complex. There prices are also one of the highest in town and they state that it is because of the location (it's ridiculous considering the service they provide their tenants is less than adequate). Cons: Condescending, rude, not helpful, non-responsive. more
