All reviews seem positive

Ok, I guess it's OK, but could we find better servers? 11/5/2011

The decor impresses everyone who walks in I am sure, but the staff of young men seem not to be aware of the needs of the customers even when the restaurant is only half full. The sushi was so-so, nothing special. Frankly, I have had better sushi at Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson. As for the Chinese Food, there is nothing remarkable about it either. It is pretty good for Chinese in the US, but pales in comparison to authentic Chinese food. Most of the menu is riddled with deep fat fried options and there is a ton of sushi that has fried ingredients plus many maki sushi options laden with globs of mayo. I had a hard time believing I couldn't have done better than $51 for one adult, one child and one toddler. I really think that their prices are in no way competitive with restaurants downtown in the city. If you are in Sarver though, it's just about the best option there is. more

Excellent Sushi 12/31/2008

Excellent sushi for this area. I highly recommend it. I have been here about 15+ times now. The restaurant is clean and the sushi has been fresh every time. It can't compare to eating sushi in San Diego or on the Carolina coast but this place has been better than any other sushi joint in the Pittsburgh area. The prices are decent but there is no liquor license so bring your own if you like. more

WONDERFUL FOOD 12/25/2008

I ate here for the first time because of a recommendation by a local business owner. I had the shrimp and lobster sauce, fantastic! I will be back! more

Amazing Chinese and Even Better Sushi 9/20/2008

I love Shanghai Tokyo - I go at least twice a month, if not more. I'm a pescetarian, and they have so many seafood choices and vegetarian choices to keep me coming back for more. Most of the time, however, I go for the excellent sushi. Their sushi-ka at dinner is very nice - my father likes to go back to the sushi bar and gawk at him doing his art, and he doesn't mind at all! Their fish is fresh and their sushi rice is, too. I went to Tai Pei in Fox Chapel recently but the sushi did not measure up to Shanghai's standard. My personal favorites are the Eel maki, Shrimp Tempura maki and Salmon sashimi. If you're feeling a little more daring, maybe go for the Daikon Maki - tuna, yellowtail, salmon, crabstick, and cucumber wrapped in a powerful Japanese radish. It's best to go earlier or later on Friday and Saturday - they get really busy! Though I've had to wait in line a few times, I'm always in a seat within at least 15 to 20 minutes. The only complaint I have is that the service can be a bit lacking sometimes. Occasionally, certain waiters will forget a part of an order, so don't hesitate to remind them! Also, there is only one sushi-ka so if there is a long line of orders, it can take a while. It's well worth the wait, though! Prices are fair (better than Tai Pei and many other sushi bars), the atmosphere is relaxing even at the busiest times with authentic Asian pieces on the walls and slightly dimmed lighting, and it's great for take-out! Pick up a real Japanese soda - the kind with a marble in it - on your way out! Pros: Sushi, Chinese, Ambience, Waiters, Parking Cons: Service can be slow, gets busy more

This place is great! 9/13/2008

My friend took me here to dinner yesterday evening for my birthday. The entire experience was great! I had the hot & sour soup, a shrimp egg roll, and the garlic chicken. The soup was delicious and the portion size was very generous. The egg roll was crispy--not drenched in oil. The chicken was very tender and just ""hot"" enough for my tastebuds. The menu is very large with so many choices that I had a hard time deciding what to get. Our waiter was very accomodating too. Plus the price was just right. I definitely will be returning. Did I mention that they do have take-out and the location is convenient too with easy parking? Pros: Food, Price, Parking, Ambience, Service Cons: Can't think of any! more

BETTER THAN THE BUFFETS...QUALITY ABOUNDS 6/25/2008

THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD WAS EVIDENT BEGINNING WITH THE EGGROLL I HAD FOR AN APPETIZER...NOT GREASY AT ALL!!! THE HOT 'N SOUR SOUP WAS A FULL BOWL AND WAS DELICIOUS, AND THE BEST THING WAS THE GENERAL TSAO'S CHICKEN...LIGHTLY BREADED WITH NO SUPRISES UNDER THE BREADING, JUST MOIST PURE CHICKEN WITH A SUPERB SAUCE THAT WASN'T ""CARMELIZED"" SWEET...JUST THE RIGHT TOUCH OF SWEETNESS WITH A LITTLE ZING TO IT.\r I HAVE ALREADY BRAGGED TO EVERYONE AT WORK ABOUT THE PLEASANT ATMOSPHERE AND TERRIFIC FOOD AS WELL AS THE GREAT SERVICE....ALL AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE...CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT!!! THE BUFFET PLACES DON'T HOLD A CANDLE TO THIS!\r MY FRIEND HAD A SEAFOOD DISH WITH A VERY LIGHT WHITE SAUCE OVER IT AND SHE WAS VERY HAPPY AS WELL...WE WILL BOTH BE GOING BACK AND TAKING OUR FRIENDS WITH US! more
