After a long trip across the mountains to visit my grandmother, my Mom, my two-year old, and I decided to stop for lunch. We came into Clifton off of I-70 and saw the Shake Rattle & Roll Diner not far off of the exit. We thought it sounded like a fun place to eat after a day full of traveling. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to try it!
When we walked in we saw a sign that said "Please Wait to be Seated." So we waited while the two waitresses working behind the counter never acknowledged us, and the cook who kept staring at us through the window never said anything to us or the waitresses. After waiting for about three minutes without being greeted, I went up to one of the waitresses behind the counter and asked her if we should seat ourselves. Without even turning around to look at me, her response was "The tables aren't bussed and there are only two waitresses, so you're just going to have to wait."
Taken aback by her rudeness, I said "Don't worry about it, we're going somewhere else." Her response, again without looking at me, was "Okay." It didn't even seem to faze her that three potential customers turned around and walked out. Unfortunately, due to the wait staff's rude behavior, we'll never attempt to try the Shake Rattle & Roll Diner again.
Pros: Close to I-70
Cons: Rude Wait Staff
