The Serova School of Dance is fine if you want to socialize your youngster or teach them basic grace, but it is no place to gain any true technical training. The staff are all people who majored in dance in college, not who actually performed with any reputable companies. The classes for beginners are fine, but the intermediate and advanced classes are a waste of money. The school dances in a handful of C-list dance competitions and holds an annual recital. The facilites are not top quality (i.e. floors and mirrors) and it is not in a very safe (or well-lit) area of Somerville.
