Seaforth Really Sucks 5/28/2011

I was hoping a 1/2 trip with Seaforth would be a great experience to share with my two teenagers. Wrong. Instead, it was an embarrassing waste of time and money. After being scammed out of any fishing time by the crew's local chums we were left feeding half-dead ""live' bait to the sea lions at the end of the trip. While others divvied up their catch with the rude crew we were dumped back on the dock empty-handed and disappointed. If you're a vacationer looking for a real fishing experience, this isn't it. more

Wonderful whale watching tours 3/22/2011

I have been on 2 whale watching tours with these folks within the last couple of months (January and March) and was amazed and delighted each time. Today we saw several mysterious and lovely Risso dolphins moving in formation, three grey whales, many interesting seabirds, and another dolphin pod that was busily feeding (the pelicans were hungry, too!) I also saw a huge sunfish-- one of the weirdest fish I have ever seen. I had been hoping to see one and was just lucky today, I guess. On both trips, the crew was friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for whale watching tours-- even if you don't see a whale, you will see a LOT and enjoy the trip! more

""Horrible Experience"" Disrespectful, Rude, Cheated on the Jackpot 7/17/2008

Went out to enjoy an afternoon on the water, and it almost immediately turned into a nightmarish experience. The crew members, and the captain were rude. I had the impression that they din't want to be there? They gave dirty looks to passengers. One person in my party said he over heard the captain make a very rude comment about his (overweight)wife. He wanted to fight the captain, but realized it wasn't worth spending the night in jail. everyone in our party paid into the jackpot. One person in our party caught a very large yellowtail which was probably around 25 pounds. Well would'nt you know it, that fish disappered. from his burlap sack. When they did the jackpot weigh-in. The fish that won was my friends fish. A friend of the crew members took credit for the fish which was ours. We could tell because the fishes flesh torn in the same place as ours was from the gaff that was used to lift it onto the boat. Well, I can tell you one thing is for sure. We will never fish that landing again. All of us just wanted to have fun and relaxing afternoon on the water, and what we got was a nightmarish experience. We spoke to the manager when we got back to the landing. Our impression was that he did really seem to care one way or another. So we all just left never to return. Good riddance Seaforth Landing! Pros: There are other landings to go fishing out of. Cons: Horrible landing in almost every respect! more
