The first thing that should strike any newcomer to Scholl Canyon is the excellent view of downtown Los Angeles and the basin beyond, which is a nice feature that adds a great intangible quality to playing this short executive course. As for the golf itself, the course is in pretty good condition with nicely kept greens and plenty of bunkers protecting medium-sized greens that should challenge your ball-striking and accuracy. The back nine features some of the best views of any golf course in the LA area and the hilly terrain makes for some interesting lies, especially to elevated greens like 13. One definite drawback to the course is its close proximity to the Glendale/Pasadena dump, which is visible from some holes. All in all, a solid and challenging course.
Pros: Great views, challenging green locations
Cons: Neighboring dump
